At home weights VS jillian michaels dvds???

I know I've been on here a lot lately and my questions are somewhat similiar... sorry guys. What do you think would be more benefitial for toning and maybe building a bit of muscle: I'm doing Jillian Michaels one week shred dvd. I enjoy it and am definitely seeing results. Just curious tho if doing A certain amount of reps of similiar weight lifting (squats, lunges, curls, etc) wpuld get me same results, faster, better, etc etc etc...

Kettle bell will do both cardio and strength. I like weights too but mostly do kettle bell work outs0
