To date or to lift that is the question
Little back story. I started hitting the gym about 3 months ago and was doing great. Then I had to stop so my shoulder could heal up cause I thought I could lift more than I actually could. So on my break I started trying to date a little. So far I got stood up 3 times and met one person that wasn't really interested. I have been back in the gym for about 3 weeks now but I have missed a couple workouts because of "dates" that never showed up. So my question is should I just embrace being single and focus on the gym or should I try to keep dating and miss workouts from time to time?

Only date people that lift. They certainly won't stand you up if the date's at the gym!6

Date when it doesn't conflict with gym time. Gym time is your time so don't neglect you for a date.4

Sorry you got stood up. People are *kitten*. I agree with the people That said schedule them different times. People rarely go on dates in mornings, so maybe try to do your lifting first thing?0

It's fine. After the second one you get use to it. I would love to work out in the mornings but the problem with that is I have to be at work at 6:30 and it's about an hour drive there. I would have to get up at 4:00 and that would still be pushing it.1 -

There's a balance that needs to be made, but if she works out that's even better. You could have workout date sessions. That's what I would do.0

Have you tried meeting genuine women on match or eharmony? I met my husband on match.
Sometimes it's a numbers thing. Not always though. I had 14 diff dates in a year til i finally met my hubby. We met in 4/2010. Still going great.

Keep lifting, and try dating on off days. I workout 3 days a week, spend regular time with my family, work 40-50 hours per week and still have time for dating. You having a life away from the women you date is good, and it helps keep you from being that clingy guy they warn their friends about. Lol0

I just broke up with my boyfriend of 2.5 years and have been enjoying how free I feel when I workout. I've been trying to date too but right now my training has come first. If someone asks if I want to go out on Tuesday night and I'm supposed to train, I try for another night. If another night won't work, I'll still go but I'll adjust my training so I don't miss anything. You can do both, just find balance. Recently I started seeing someone from my gym who lifts as well so he understands when I say "sorry, I'm training that night".1
