Wait. Not done. Chocolate chips are bad because snacks that aren't individually wrapped lead to overeating.
Plot twist: so do individually wrapped 100-calorie packs.3 -

Eh, to rephrase that in a much more accurate way, quite a large number of snacks and meals and food in general can rapidly lead to weight gain when consumed in amounts that cause one to exceed one's overall calorie limit for maintenance of their weight.
There's nothing special about the foods in that article. Just more dumb rules so that people think weight loss is complicated.
I don't snack much, personally, because I find it far less satisfying than just focusing on my meals (which I then have more calories for), plus an occasional evening dessert of some sort, and find most so-called snack foods not particularly interesting (almonds I love, though, and same with greek yogurt and fruit). But if one likes to snack and counts the calories, those foods are fine. The article seems more aimed at people who aren't tracking calories at all or can't figure out for themselves what works for them to stay satisfied.0 -

2. Gluten free isn't synonymous with healthy? Alert the presses!
3. Are rice cakes still a thing? Does the GI index matter once you put peanut butter on them?
4. So chocolate chips are fine if I can find them individually wrapped? *wanders off to buy some Hershey's kisses*
5. When you add calorie-dense foods to frozen yogurt the calories go up? Again, I'll stop the presses for this one.
6. Granula... I'm done.
Did anyone actually make it to 20?

I would think it would be great for weight loss, though. Especially after you break most of your teeth on it and switch to a liquid diet.3 -
I don't eat any of those snacks anyway. I eat dried fruit but not the ones with any added sugar, I make sure of that.0

Hey, I actually like rice cakes! They've got some pretty good ones out now - apple, caramel, salted, chocolatey!1 -

Because they call them "chips" so therefore you will get fat because everyoe knows potato chips are a snack food so chocolate chips, being in the same chip family, will make you fat.1 -
