Finally tired of battling the weight alone

Options
Hello to all others who are also tired of going it alone. I'm one of the many that try to lose weight only to be laughed at by others. I'm trying to lose the weight, mainly around my belly and wonderfully inherited thunder thighs, to help my health and also so I can join the military and serve our country. I have too much body fat, but when I tell coworkers that I'm trying to lose weight, I get the same thing. "You don't need to lose weight."
While I appreciate the compliment, I can always use the encouragement. "How are you doing with the weight loss?" I'm horrible with self motivation so I've decided to join up and finally talk to others battling the same thing.
So finally, hello from me on the still beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast where one day I'll be able to tan without shame on our new beaches!!!:flowerforyou:

Well first of all , just the thought you have of serving our great country is so much appreciated and you are my familys hero if you do so. Second you allways see yourself diffrent from others . And how much do you need to lose to get in the military?

 Welcome. I certainly don't live anywhere near any beaches but we do have a pool in the backyard. I would love to go swimming without looking like a beached whale. And I understand all about the "thunder thighs". Let's make it a goal to never again have a pair of pants wear thin and get holes where our legs rub together.

Ahhhh, yes...thunder thighs. That used to be my sister's nickname (she's 7 years older and only got it because she got them before I did) and we're very well aware of our "birthing hips." Such loveable terms for women, aren't they!? People generally try to make us feel "not so bad" about ourselves because they love us no matter how we are but they don't always see how much we really want something. The best supporters I have are those who have battled what I'm going through. I have a co-worker who lost over 100 lbs a few years ago and she is my "fat counselor." When I'm having a bad day and want to go out to lunch and order the fat laden, 3 days worth of calories food, she doesn't lecture me or tell me not to, but she does remind me that I probably don't want to do that and that it isn't worth it. She's my Jiminy Cricket, aka, my conscience. She does get, though, when I just HAVE TO do what I do. She cheers me on, understands me when I feel defeated, and is there for me. This site does that, too. I know a lot of other people who say the same, "You are beautiful! I couldn't imagine you losing that much! That just wouldn't look right on you!" stuff. Well, that's because they've never SEEN me at that size! Don't get me wrong...I'd like to be a healthy 140 on my 5'6" frame and, by no means an anorexic 100 lbs. I want to be strong, healthy, and happy! We all do! We can do it! Keep in your mind that you know what your goals are. Other people want to be supportive and may just think that agreeing that you need to lose ### lbs may sound like they're saying you're fat. Go for it! We're all here for you!

Last I checked the max weight to enter was 170 but I want to be well below that. I'm not ashamed to say that I weight 195 because it is just a number that I plan on bringing down. With the shift I work (graveyard) it is almost impossible to keep to any kind of real routine. I work multiple jobs, like just about every other American trying to make ends meet. I think I'm doing well by not going over 200 but I haven't succeeded in losing anything. I also work in the casino industry as a cocktail server so being a thick girl doesn't exactly attract the good tips. I appreciate all the input from everyone. I'm a very social person who likes to encourage, as well as being encourage. Thanks for helping out.
