I just started training for my half marathon today... I have a 6 week old that I am currently breastfeeding... Anyone have any tips to keep supply up while I train? What foods should I avoid/intake? Any advice?

Eat an additional 300-500 calories per day on top of your daily calorie goal to maintain supply. There are no foods you need to avoid while breastfeeding unless you or the little one have allergies. You can have alcohol while breastfeeding, just know that it can pass through breastmilk and you should limit your intake and not nurse right after you drink, obviously.

Regularly drinking more than two units of alcohol a day while breastfeeding may affect your baby's development. But an occasional drink is unlikely to harm your breastfed baby. Read more here: http://motherhow.com/alcohol-and-breastfeeding-how-much-can-you-drink/

Good advice from kgeyser. I would also make sure to focus on staying hydrated-- especially during these summer months. I like coconut water, and also there are products like NUUN tabs and similar that can add electrolytes without calories.
