I have no idea what my goal is or should be! Just to be able to comfortably run? I'm not planning on changing how I eat so I guess my weight settles where it settles and I'm okay with that now. I absolutely did NOT stay under my calorie goal and, while I do log exercise, I didn't make a concerted effort to eat back those calories. Sometimes I did eat them back, sometimes I didn't. Honestly, I just wanted to be able to live with my eating habits so I really try to be smart about what I put in my mouth. On days I log a lot of miles, I'm hungrier so I'll eat more but try to make it fruit and veg. I definitely learned the hard way that I cannot nor should not skip meals just for the sake of saving calories. Then my workouts suffer and I feel terrible. Do I still eat chocolate and occasionally indulge in something fantastic? God, yes.
