Do you aim a defecit in calories + eat clean to lose stubborn fats? Or do you aim for muscle mass (more calories?) and eat clean to lose stubborn fats?

Whats the best approach? Thanks in advance.

Deficit, exercise, and proper nutrient balance.

Are you wanting to lose weight or just fat/remain the same weight? To lose weight, you simply need a calorie deficit. Lifting heavy will help ensure more fat is lost than muscle. If you want to just lower your body fat and remain the same weight, then you eat the same amount of calories as you burn and lift heavy. Clean eating really means nothing, since there are so many definitions of what is considered "clean" to people.

What exactly do you mean by "stubborn fats"?
