Question for those who do "spinning"

I tried spinning the other day and it is not my cup of tea. But I do have to ask all of you: does the spin room always dark with disco lights and somewhat of an S&M theme going on?

    i've been to a glow-in-the-dark spin class one time and it was awesome! but my gym has the normal sping class - with the lights on and the music pumping.

    I love my spinning class and wish I could go more than just once a week. Our room is dark but no S&M...just lights along the stairs and music pumping.

    I've only been in two spin classes (hated it), but from looking in the windows at my gym it's always dark in there. I always wondered why that was.

    Not at our gym, although can't say I would object.

    Would say to give it a couple more goes before making a decision though. Have heard it takes three to five classes to really get a feel for it. I'm definatly addicted.
