Has or does anyone count and keep up with daily macro intake?
Has it been beneficial?
Which do you find easier counting calories or counting macros?
I know its a lot of questions I am just curious because I am considering counting macros.
Thanks for everyone's input

It's essentially the same thing.
Each macro has a certain number of calories. Multiplying your carb macro by 4, fat macro by 9, and protein macro by 4 will get you back around to calories within a margin for rounding.
Do whichever works best for you or a combination.
I mainly count calories but I do keep an eye on my protein and fat macros to make sure I'm getting enough.2 -
It's extremely important. Count calories is the base for losing weight. Macros are important if you are trying to re-composite your body. Understanding how many grams of protein and fat keep you satisfied. How many grams of protein will help you maintain lean body mass. Understanding what is the right level of carbs and fat to keep you energized without feeling too hungry.
That is a balancing game. It is extremely important.3 -
I count both macros and calories. They go hand in hand and it's pretty easy to do with this app. I can manipulate my macros to train better, be less fluffy, feel better/have more energy, etc. As for losing fat, it comes down to calories but the macronutrient makeup of your diet can be important toward getting a lean look.1

I concentrate on hitting my calories. The only macro I really pay attention to is my protein. I try to get 25% on rest days and between 30-35% on training days. Everything else is secondary really. I easily hit 30% on both my carbs and fat daily so I don't really keep a close eye on them.1

I've seen this expression a few times on here but what exactly is "macros"?0

Counting macros or calories is pretty much the same thing. If you count macros you are also calorie counting by default, if you go over your macros then you also go over your calories.
Personally, I keep an eye on both.0 -
Thanks everyone. I want to recompose my body so I am gonna give this macro thing a try.0
