Hi all; I'm back. Went to see a liver specialist for Fatty Liver Disease ... nothing too serious ... yet. But she said I have to take my weight loss efforts a bit more seriously and she said I should try this site call "My Fitness Pal" I giggled and said I know it well. It's nice that professionals recommend this site. She said it's a great way to keep track of the breakdown of the foods and to know what levels of fats and sugars and stuff we are consuming. So here I go again. One more time. Anyone want to be MFP Pals? Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone.

I am really motivated and going to make some permanent changes in my life! I am looking for friends who are interested in motivating each other and creating a support circle! And, I was diagnosed with a fatty liver because of my weight plus I've recently had several surgeries due to kidney stones.
Let's do this.
(I am a 45 and would like to, no scratch that, I WILL lose 75 pounds!)3 -

I've also been diagnosed with fatty liver disease and really can't afford to be lax about my weight anymore. Too many complications to just ignore. So glad I can count on the support of others in my same boat. Please feel free to add me as a friend. It really does make all the difference.1

I was diagnosed in august 2015 with cirrhosis and pre diabetes. My fatty liver had progressed to cirrhosis because I didnt take it seriously. I work in the medical field and have seen first hand what cirrhosis and diabetes can do to a person....I was terrified. Finally took it seriously and changed everything over night. A little over a year out I have gone from 272 to 183, size 24 to 14, A1c of 5.9 to a normal 5.4 and my liver enzymes are all within normal range. I havent had a beer or wine in a year, cut out all red meats, fats and sugars and have gone to mostly a vegitarian diet. I now have energy everyday and try to fit in some type of excersise every day. I am happier and I feel like Im finally living my life. No sitting in front of the tv mindlessly munching on garbage. You can reverse the damage to your liver. To some degree the liver will regenerate if you treat it with care. It is a lifestyle change for sure, but what is the alternative? Liver transplant or death. Up to now I had always thought....I cant do this....its not in me....its too hard, so believe me when I say...if I can do this, anyone can. I am not ready to go quietly into the night yet and I am gonna fight for my life. I wish everyone here the strength to fight and end it now, while its only fatty liver, and know that its within your grasp to be healthy again. Add me if you need some moral support. Im still 30 lbs from goal so I can use some too.3

Hi everyone! I recently have been told I have a 9mm mass and several lesions in my liver. Five years ago (at 26) I had heart surgery due to misfiring electrodes. At that time my liver levels were about 100 on alt and ast but have gone back into a normal range. My triglycerides had gotten to 1097 last summer, But are down to about 200. My spleen is enlarged but otherwise looks ok on the ct and mri. Yet this with my liver is there. I am being told to see a liver specialist in Atlanta. I constantly run fevers and am exhausted all over. Any ideas or advice? Feel free to add or message me!0

Hi I'm very new at this with 2 days in. I have read through the comments on the diagnosis of fatty liver. I too was diagnosed in the Spring of 16 with a fatty liver. It coincided with problems of diverticulitis. My doctor did not raise any alarm or concern over the fatty liver. No diet changes but I could stand to lose 15-20 pounds. Im a size 8 with good muscle tone. All this being said I came down with shingles in September and then 2 bouts of staph, I told my doctor we needed to investigate all this further as I haven't felt well all year and I was fearful of a serious illness or immune system disorder Turns out I was diagnosed with cocksacky virus and it was attacking my liver. I guess this virus can linger around and I had group B which I probably got in a hospital. I mention all of this to suggest that others get tested for this virus. In my case it attacked my liver but in others it can attack the heart or brain stem. I've heard several horror stories from others. I don't know for sure if the fatty liver developed from the virus but I'm taking it seriously and just started the keto diet. Also my blood work for my liver has been slightly elevated all year until I came down with shingles and then it raised concern by my dr. Please add me if this forum is still active0
