I make more than minimum wage but she keeps asking me to try to make more money. Can't she just be happy with me the way I am? I like this job. Why can't she accept me like this? It's tough trying to work on yourself to get a better job.

I'm afraid she'll leave me for a man with more money.

I'm not trolling. She said she loves me but just wishes that I made more money.

If she wants more disposable income, is there a reason SHE can't make more money?

Do you know why she's "wishing you made more money"? Is she looking at it from a long term stance ie: financially stable to start a family? Or is she looking at it for you to strive to achieve better financially? Or is she the type to just depend on you financially speaking? I agree with WBB55 if she leaves you for a man who makes more money then she's not worth your time. Kinda hard to accept that right now but if someone truly loves and cares enough, they'll bring you "up" and not tear you down.

she doesn't respect you because you don't make enough money, but if you go get a better paying job, she won't respect you for jumping through her hoops. you can't win. just break up.

Warning Will Robinson!! Proceed with caution. Nearly everyone would like to make more money at their job. I think you should ask yourself why...does she want you to make more money because the two of you can't make rent, utilities and food? Or does she want you to make more money because she wants more things or so she can work less? If you have the necessities in life covered and are happy, you know the answer. Any girl that would leave you for a guy with more money isn't really a girl you want around anyway. The hurt will be there short term but in the long term, you'll be really grateful. Good luck!

Suggest she gets a job and helps you with the money situation. If yall ain't married and she leaves you, she's done you a favor. Then you can have peace of mind and you can focus on what makes you happy and what you're willing to accept from other people.
