Low calorie foods to eat before drinking alcohol?

Okay I am probably drinking tonight (but 6 shots max and no mix drinks, which will amount to about 600 cals)
I've worked out enough to create room for more calorie consumption. What do you suggest I eat (low cal) before I go out? I have 1170 calories to spare!
I need to eat before going out or else I get wayy too drunk, and that is never a good thing.
Strangely, the last time, I had like 8 pieces of salmon sashimi and got way too drunk. I guess protein isn't very good at absorbing alcohol? You guys suggest fiber? brown rice? healthy fat? sugars?

Drink lots of water too. Alternate between alcohol and water. It will help keep you hydrated so you don't get too tipsy. Trust me...I'm Irish so I'm a professional at drinking. LOL0

Yoghurt supposedly lines the stomach quite well without being bulky0

How about oatmeal instead of brown rice?
Oh luckily I have one tub of yogurt left!
Thanks guyss0 -
What's waaay to drunk when it comes to drinking lol? Just eat a good meal although that will have lil impact on your alcohol buzz The side effect of drinking is you get hungry and generally eat whatever you want. Thats ok just get back on your program the next day. Life is about moderation not deprivation.0

Too drunk, as in not remember most of the night the next day. God, I really don't want that to happen again.
I don't think there will be food around, so I won't be eating everything in sight which is good! I get horrible cravings usually.0 -
Ooh I'm scared to drink since I started on here. I know if I have a glass of wine I'll justify eating half the contents of my fridge!!
I've been trying to stay sober by imagining going for a run with a wine hangover headache! Puts me right off!!!0 -
Why not mix the shots with diet soda, and drink slower? Like someone else suggested, drink plenty of water between drinks, and stay away from salty foods.
You don't have to get totally blitzed to have fun... besides, what sense does it make to have all that fun and not remember it? lol
I know, I know... I' m an old fart now... :drinker:0 -
eggs and toast, the grease from the eggs will coat your stomache to help avoid hangovers and nauseausness, and the toast will help absorb the alcohol.0
