Hi just started MFP today and I've been working out the past 5 weeks and no real results. I'm considering a low card diet and adjusted my carb intake to 30 get a day. I'm 47 but don't believe my age is a factor as much as eating fruit as snacks like watermelon, Mangoes, pineapples etc. Okay, I am from Florida!!! Any suggestions??

You don't need low carb to lose weight, unless you have certain medical conditions.

I tried low carb years ago. As a temporary change. But when I got to goal I gained all the weight back. Temporary changes lead to temporary results. I wasn't fat because I ate carbs, I was fat because my portions were too big. Now I eat all foods in moderation.

Pick something that will be a lifestyle change. If you plan on being low(er) carb forever, then start practicing now.

Exercise is great for health & fitness. For weight loss.....not so much. You burn a few calories, but not near as many as you think.

Consider using a digital food scale to measure solids, much more accurate.

Low carb will get you results fast but you need to follow a well balanced diet as soon as you stop the low carb diet if you don't you will gain all the weight back. I find it better to eat all foods in moderation and watch calorie control. Hope this helps..
