Upper Body At Home?

Does anyone have suggestions? I don't have any equipment at home outside of 3 and 5 lb hand weights and a cheap elliptical. I'm doing cardio every night with maybe one night a week off. I know I need to incorporate strength workouts which pretty much means core and upper body.
Is there anything I can do at home that would work just as well as going to a gym? I'll be starting full time work soon with a new promotion so my time is limited.

Look into a book called You Are Your Own Gym. They're body-weight resistance exercises that don't require equipment. Apparently, there's also an app and a bunch of YouTube videos that you can follow.0
