Goodmorning everyone!

Well once again I was too rushed this morning to pack a lunch, and yesterday I had thought the breakfast borritos at McDonalds would have been an ok choice, since I gave away the hashbrowns and skipped the ketchup. But it turns out those tiny borritos are 290 calories each! Yikes! So I was wondering if we could try to compile some favorite low- calorie options for us semi-frequent fast food-ers. I have learned how to eat healthy at subway, but would like some drive-through options since I only get 1/2 hr breaks for lunch. Any tips would be great! I'll definately be taking notes on this one! Thanks guys!!

p.s. I did find that the fresco crunchy tacos are 150 calories each. Not too terrible :drinker:

I really enjoy the McDonalds grilled chicken salad (no dressing). Less than 300 cals and low fat

The grilled chicken salads at McD's are actually pretty good. They also serve fruit and oatmeal now, and their fruit/yogurt parfaits are good for a quick snack or breakfast.

Most fast food places offer grilled chicken salads, you just have to be careful of which dressing you put on top of them.
  • TIm Horton's chicken snack wraps are good. Get them with no sauce.

thanks for the websites. I was surprised to find that of my 2 fav fast food salads one was on the best list and the other on the naughty list. Good to know!

Wendy's has a terrific new berry almond chicken salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing.
The half salad is plenty for a lunch and has 270 calories, 12 gm fat, 23 gm carbs and 21 grams of protein.
The raspberry vinaigrette dressing was fabulous.

I probably eat WAY too much fast food...

    McDonald's:
    Egg McMuffin - 300 calories
    Hamburger - 250 calories
Sm Ice Cream - 150 (the above 2 items are my favorite fast food lunch)
Gilled Chicken Snack Wrap w/ either honey mustard or BBQ sauce.

    Burger King:
    Whopper Jr. w/o Mao

    Taco Bell:
    Crunchy Tacos
    Chicken Soft Tacos

    Wendy's:
Cheeseburger Deluxe w/o mayo or cheese
    Grilled Chicken snack wrap again.

Pretty much any small hamburger w/o mayo or cheese is a good bet.

    Subway:
Blackforest Ham on wheat w/o cheese, only mustard.

    KFC:
Grilled chicken (It's actually really good)

Pretty much everything on the Taco Bell Fresco menu is pretty good already. But you can make it even better...

Order yourself 3 Fresco Steak soft tacos... Normally about 180 calories each... NOW, get yourself a bowl. Scrape all the inside bits into the bowl. THROW OUT THE SHELLS. Believe it or not, the shells are all the calories. And carbs. Without it, those 3 tacos will add up to about 150 calories, and you'll be surprised but you'll be hard pressed to finish eating it. It's a lot. And it's very flavorful.

I also enjoy their Chicken Taco salad, I order it no rice (about 150 calories gone), and no zesty sauce (who knows how many), and resist the temptation to eat the shell. If I succeed and don't eat the shell it's about 380 calories, and that's with full fat sour cream. Which almost feels like cheating it tastes so good.... Now if I don't succeed and I eat the shell *sighs* It's about 800 calories. For lunch that's a lot, for dinner not so bad.

McDonalds McDouble cheeseburger on their $1 menu is only 380 calories, but almost 920 sodium.. so you have to be careful what else you eat that day with salt.
  • McDonald's - (Low calorie options - Breakfast Menu) Parfait, Egg McMuffin, Oatmeal

Wendys - Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Small Chili, HALF-size salads, Grilled Chicken Wrap

Subway - Obvious! Just get a 6inch on 9-grain wheat and load it with veggies and allow fat free sauce (they even break down the sauce into the healthy and full-fat options)

Sonic - Grilled Chicken Sandwich on wheat bun - Apple slices on the side.. they even sell bananas!!

    Taco Bell - Fresco Menu
