50 lbs. in 5 Months with Pics

I told myself that I would post when I lost my first 50 lbs., but it took me a couple weeks to get the courage to do so. I felt so awful about myself last year that there are very few pictures of me at my heaviest. And looking at them has been hard for me, but over the last five months I have gained much needed inspiration from the many success stories on MFP so here it goes...
This is me with my family at my heaviest in December 2010. Despite getting family pictures taken, our Christmas Cards were always photos of just our boys because I was too embarrassed of how I looked.
I began tracking my calories in and out on MFP in mid-January 2011. By making better food choices and getting more active primarily with strength training and jogging I lost 50 lbs. in just under 5 months. I am determined to include family pictures on our Christmas cards this year. This photo was taken at a wedding last month when I was at my 50 lb. mark.

Well done but you may wish to hold off getting those family Christmas pix done until the beginning of November. If you continue to stay on track, you'll have succeeded in becoming even more HEART HEALTHY. This is not a short term lifestyle change. You need to set your mind to accurately weighing, measuring, leveling off excess quantities and logging every single item that goes in your mouth....for the rest of your mortal life. As soon as you revert to not doing that, I guarantee you'll pile all the weight you lost back on with more fat pounds added.
Been there~~done that: 55 years of doing it. For me, this is the LAST TIME because I'm staying with my program for the duration, i.e. forever, to keep me on track and stay heart healthy. No heart surgeon will ever get the opportunity to pay for luxuries by putting a scalpel to cut my chest open.
You've done extremely well. Do not stop now.0 -
Congratulations!
You're an inspiration...0 -
