Had my new patient check at the Dr's today. The nurse who took my waist measurement remarked 'I had a waist like that once!'
Cue big grins from me.22 -
I measured my thighs today and I've lost a whole inch off each one just since June 14. This is pretty awesome considering my scale barely moves anymore since I'm 75% to my goal.15

One super cute buff guy, was working out in front of me and gave me the "well done" face after he saw my bench press. I said, thanks for giving me your look of approval. He said I did a good job, that he had just gotten to the weight I was lifting not too long ago and it took him a while. The guy that was spotting me was also encouraging me to squeeze out a few more reps. Feeling good, and then some haters had to hate.
There were two guys working out next to me and one of them was talking, possibly on the phone (headphones) and said, "I can't believe it. This fat woman just walked up in here and lift weight most men struggle with. A fat woman......Fat.... liftin weights." They couldn't have been four feet away from me, and felt the need to say, 3 times, "fat woman," knowing full well I could hear them, clearly, talking about me.
I ignored it and started a new set.
This makes me so mad that those guys were such jerks putting you down rather than complimenting your efforts. I don't understand why anyone would want to make another person feel bad for getting healthy. Good for you for ignoring them!
Thanks. I found it a compliment. If I had picked up a light weight and did some dumbell curls, they probably wouldn't have said anything. But it really got under their craw that I was able to do something their ego couldn't handle.
All of this. You are amazing, and I love your attitude and perspective. We can't change the *kittens* of this world, but we can change our reaction to them. Next time I'm the only girl in the weight lifting area, I'm going to keep this in mind. Wonderful job and thank you for sharing your story.5 -
Leg pressed three sets of 115lbs yesterday. When I started strength training a few weeks ago, I was at 90lbs. I think the combination of running, lifting, Zumba and Tae no is paying off. The scale didn't drop this week (actually went up .4) but feeling strong kind of made up for it.10

My legs have always been hideous to me... always kept them covered. I'm starting to like the way they look! And they feel strong.8

Have a few to share. Was comfortable enough to give my biggest T-Shirts away to my Mother in Law to use as nightgowns. Had enough energy yesterday to clean the entire main floor of my townhouse. In the past I have run out of steam long before I finish (Mother in Law visiting might have inspired some motivation ). Went for a six mile bike ride. Haven't ridden that far in ten years. June has typically been an easy month for me to fall off of my diet - I have a hard time getting used to the heat. But today is June 30th and I noticed I had a 30 day streak this morning! And finally I have spent seven months being consistent with making many more good choices than bad ones concerning food/activities. The longest I had gone before was five months.25

Fitting into a size L shirt and it not being snug. I was wearing 4XL shirts last year.36

After about 6 months of losing weight, this month I've lost the least amount of weight and I was getting a little doscouraged. Did my monthly measurements though and found that I'm still losing inches even if my weight didn't go down much!

I can now literally do sit-ups after losing 25 lbs and gaining strength... Woohoo!
61 more to go...13 -
Can fit into a size 20 and Large shirt, a month ago I was in size 24 and xl-2xl shirt.27
-
I can fit my 17 year olds skinny jeans yay lol18
-
I ran a 2 mile fun run yesterday and ran it in 17 minutes and 24 seconds, my fastest 2 mile run and 16 seconds faster than my previous fun run. Now my goal is to complete it in under 17 minutes.11

I've lost 40 pounds and am feeling confident enough to rock red lipstick in my customer service job.24

All of this is great - well done! Keep at it... sounds like you've got this, this time.kyliegoodwin04 wrote: »I've lost 40 pounds and am feeling confident enough to rock red lipstick in my customer service job.
The big health improvements and so on that people make are always awesome, but sometimes it's the 'smaller' things like this that are very special! The way that changing our weight and shape makes us feel, and the confidence it gives us. I'm not ready for red lippy just yet, but one day I will be!
My little NSV for today - I went shopping for some groceries at lunchtime, and although I'd had a mid-morning snack my stomach was growling while I was shopping. I only realised while I was eating my lunch that Old Me would have had no hesitation buying a chocolate bar at the checkout to munch on, but New Me didn't even think about it! It honestly didn't cross my mind once, I was just looking forward to getting home as soon as possible and eating my salad!
I think I was kidnapped by aliens and replaced with a clone.

I have been reading this thread religiously every day. So inspiring!!! I thought that I would post some of my own after I finished reading the entire thread. However, I am only on page 229 of 369, and I simply cannot wait!
My NSV starts with me being in a super grumpy mood. Not once, but twice this week, an underwire has broken on a bra. I LOATHE spending money on underwear, and the construction on the highway between my house and the mall right now is a nightmare. Since I was feeling sorry for myself for having to make this trip to the mall, and I have been eating really well lately, I decided to treat myself to some Aunt Annie's Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Bites.
First NSV: I logged them before I ever left my house and adjusted my supper plans to make them fit into my calorie allotment. (BTW, they have 490 calories and 99 grams of carbs!!!!) Not so long ago, I would have just decided that the day was a lost cause and not logged for the rest of the day.
Second NSV: As I was at the register to make my purchase, I decided I could live without these luscious pretzel bites that I had been thinking about for over two hours. Maybe it was because I was far away enough from the store that I couldn't actually smell them, but I am going to chalk it up to making a good decision.
Third NSV: Those bras that I didn't want to buy were actually on sale for 60% off. Woo Hoo! Win, Win, Win!!!42 -
Ooh ooh another NSV but annoying one. My fave sunglasses not to mention expensive also are too wide for my head now.10

That's awesome. You should be able to take them to your eye doctor to be resized.4 -
I was feeling irritable this afternoon. Instead of eating or going to bed I decided to take a walk! I'm much more relaxed, and I feel virtuous.19
-
I had a busy stressful week and instead of turning to eatinf junk I turned to exercise. I love that I pretty much need to workout every weekday in order to feel like myself.13

I don't know if this is a NSV or not...But at work this week I had an appointment where I had to sit in a very uncomfortable plastic chair for over 4 hours at a time and it HURT the bones in my butt. Even though it was extremely uncomfortable I felt a little bit of joy. My butt has bones!!!16

A gentleman I have worked with for a long time asked if I lost weight. I was so excited he noticed.15
-
Clothes are feeling looser!!11
-
- I got some pants back from the dry cleaner, went to put them on, and realized, whoops - I can't wear these, they are way too big in the waist. I can't even safety-pin them so they fit right.
- Walked into work this morning and one of my coworkers said "you are smaller every time I see you!" (Not true, but was nice to hear)
- I bumped into a former coworker the other day and she didn't recognize me at first. I had to wave at her and she looked shocked. She said "your face is so different, I guess it's your cheekbones?" (you can see them now)
I haven't lost much on the scale but every time I see someone I haven't seen in awhile...I realize the "body recomposition" thing must be working
I love that your having that recompostition with not quite as much weight loss too! I've been stuck on the scale forever and it's been slightly infuriating but people still say I'm looking a lot better which I didn't really understand. It's nice to see that other people are having the same "problem" as me.7 -
I tried on this dress for a bachelorette party and felt sexy. I haven't felt sexy in a while. That was the moment I truly stopped caring about the number. That and when I tried on swimsuits a few days ago and for the first time in too long I didn't leave crying. I felt beautiful. yay24

-When I sit in my car driving, I really notice how much smaller I am in the seat and when I look down, see much less of my tummy
-My bra doesn't create rolls of fat but sits nice and (almost!) smoothly on my back
-I had to create a new hole on my belt that I need to keep my pants up (loosing weight is expensive, I'm not buying new pants yet!)
-I have an incredible amount of energy and feel great and strong just walking abound
-And the biggest thing for me yet, is that I feel like I have finally broken my addiction to food. I no longer want pastas or cakes or just crappy delicious junk food because it's just not worth it. If I get nothing else out of this weight loss journey, I will always be so happy I at least finally hit that mindset where I really only crave and want food that will make my body stronger and healthier. It was always my problem in the past trying to loose weight and I'm just so grateful to get past it.21 -
The areas between my breasts and tummy is flatter and large, and my tops fit over my hips more loosely. Have to take in my tank tops because now they show my bra! Am going to run a seam about 1/2" from the last one along the top and another 1/2" seam along the sides to make it fit better until I can toss all of my fat clothing!12

A co-worker noticed my jeans were fitting looser. Yay!9

The girl I've started dating told me that she finds me really attractive. A first for me. At this point when my mom tells me I'm handsome I find it patronizing. I know this girl likes me for who I am but it's also nice to know that she likes how I look as well; it's a real confidence booster and encouragement to keep this up.
Also, in wearing a shirt today for the first time. It's just a work volunteer event shirt from 2015 but they didn't offer 3XL so I picked a 2XL and thought one day it might work - that day is today and it fits perfectly fine35 -
A few weeks ago I went hiking in my gym pants (did it all the time) and my bug spray was ineffective to say the least. The pants had mesh for breathability in the 'hip' area so you can guess which part of me I've been scratching! (Ended up with mild West Nile too, which is why I decided on proper hiking pants.)
I went shopping today. I hate shopping. I was trying on a new brand, I'm usually a ten, but sometimes a 12, but I've lost 15 pounds, scree it, sizes 8-12 go in with me.
Tried the tens first, they fit well, but the zippers on the convertible legs were too tight when I squatted. I was swimming in the 12s. An extra 4 inches in the waist on those. I was hanging them back up when I realized that the 10s were actually 8s!
I fit into 8s! I never shop, so I didn't realize that I'd backed into a new size!
I bought real size 10s, coated them with permethrin, and can finally go out hiking again on Sunday. It's been a week and a half and I'm getting twitchy without my me time in the woods!
I also finally conquered the quandary of boneless skinless chicken boobs that weren't tough and dry. Crock pot! Because I will actually eat chicken, and this stuff is delicious, my meals today will put me OVER my arbitrary 80g goal for protein!16
