I'm about 5'6" and at last weight 293. I only weigh every other week, otherwise I stress about it way too much. Have been struggling for the last month or so to keep working on this, but due to a project and it getting hot have done little exercising. That is by far my hardest obstacle, getting and remaining active. I finally have a cooler so I can safely exercise inside without passing out! My mobile home isn't too well insulated, and at times the temperature inside and out are only a few degrees apart, and it was 95 degrees today. August and September are our "hot" months. (And I'm just outside of the SF Bay Area! We are very unlike the SF Bay Area in terms of weather.)
I've always been a big girl, ever since I "became a woman" and my goal is simply to get smaller, but I refuse to even contemplate going lower than 200lbs. We'll see if I ever get there if I change my mind then! My long-term goal is 200lbs, a place I haven't been within 20 pounds of in more than that many years. I'm Type-2, but it seems really low grade and I have at least been watching what I eat with this in mind. But then my depression tried really hard to step in and mess everything up a bit ago, and I may have gotten nearly addicted to Peanut M&Ms.
Just found this place (didn't know mfp had a "community", though, duh) and thought I'd check it out. I know they say this is easier with a buddy or a pal, but the electronic thing ain't cutting it. Maybe this will help?3 -
Hello,
Im a mummy and I'm 41, and weight 16 stone 4lb. I'm 5ft 3in.
I have a lot of weight to lose. And I don't want to lose to much to quickly and be saggy1 -
46 and 242 starting over again. I lost over 80 lbs about 6 years ago and slowly the weight found me again. Not beating myself up just taking charge. I will do better maintenance this time. I am also a clean eater as much as I can and a walker. I don't use a scale most of the time, but I do track inches my goal is to get to a 30" waist. Please add me as a friend I need all the support I can get.3

I'm 5'6" and for the last 3 years I've done nothing buy yoyo between 188 and 217. Currently at 201.6 where I have been for the last 6 months. I had my first child 3 years ago and I am still trying to work the baby weight off! I've been logging food for almost 4 months straight, but I never complete entries or I forget food. I need accountability and to start really being intentional about logging food and making sure everything is accurate...I'm looking to lose 70lbs in total, but am working towards a goal of 20lbs right now. That 20lbs will put me to where I was a year ago when I got pregnant with baby number 2. Feel free to add me!2

Hello ladies! This is an interesting forum! I've been overweight all my life and that's been a long time. I even had surgery to lose weight, but that is not a cure. It's been ten years and while I kept most of the 140 pounds off, I did gain some of that back, and on 5/16/2016 I went to the doctor and weighed 324. Enough is Enough. I'd heard the KETO diet was good for some and researched it while I ate celery sticks and lettuce and talked with my doctor. He said I could try it for two months and blood work will tell if I can keep on it. To date I've lost 25pounds and am under 300! I'm not hungry and I'm excited that I believe I can lose my first goal of 124 lbs. That would put me at 200. I'm 5Ft 5" so that would help greatly. DANI: You can do this! We all can! This is going to be my life's goal since I've found that I'm not hungry on this plan and food doesn't seem to "rule" me as it once did. I have honestly not cheated since I started. Whatever food plan you are on - log that food. My phone with MFP app is on all the time. I count calories and carbs both and I feel there is hope - even at my grandmotherly age! Congrats to all of your successes! This is a really nice place to come and talk. Freida5

Hi All! Feel free to add me. I started this journey at 250lbs in January. I've lost 47 lbs since then. My first goal is to get to 199. Just 4ish lbs away! Then I've decided 165 is my final destination. I'm starting to struggle a little bit on continuing to lose. I think friends would help!6

Can someone help me with how to request / add friends on MFP?
I think I'm missing something3 -
Hey All! I was looking for a group to be part of so that I can have some accountability. I've been on and off of MFP since 2013 and I have had the greatest success when I log my meals and exercise. I am 43 and currently 5'7" and at 238 lbs. I need to lose about 80lbs. I just got on the scale and was mortified at the number, I knew my clothes were getting tight and the last time I weighed I was at 225 so when I saw 238 I knew I needed to make some serious cjanges. So its time for me to get back in gear. I like to be around positive, motivated people so please feel free to add me as a friend. Im excited about taking control of my health! We can do this!4

Hi I'm Sandra and I'm 55 from Alabama. I started a month ago on MFP and I started dieting a few weeks before that. I'm 5'4 1/2". I started 225 lbs. I would like to weigh 130-140 lbs. I've lost about 15 lbs so far but what I am currently able to do exercise wise is slow but gaining. I get on the treadmill at 2.5 mph for 20 minutes and at 2.0 mph for a 5 minute cool down. I've found that exercising first thing in the morning works best for me. Loosens up my stiff muscles too. I hope this encourages others.2

Hi Dani. I haven't been on in awhile either it has been over two years for me. I am 4 ft 11 I weigh 194. I was over 200 started on slim fast and it landed me in the hospital serious side effects but I was loving the weight loss. So I am back here again. Good luck1

Hey there everyone,
I'm 36 yrs old, 5'7", and currently 282lbs. I was about 305lbs in March and have gotten myself down a bit. Now it's time to keep on truckin! In a perfect world, if love to get down to 150lbs, but I have a large frame, and my doc says anything less than 160 probably isn't a good idea. So we shall see.
Please feel free to add me as a friend, and I look forward to more talks!

Hi...I'm a yo-yo dieter and I'm at my highest weight ever. I need to get and stay motivated!3

I am new to MFP, even though I signed up years ago. I am currently 5'2" and 230 lbs. My goal is 150 lbs. I used Herbalife last summer and lost 20 pounds without exercising much. As soon as I stopped it, I went back to old habits and gained it all back. I have contacted a Dr. for gastric bypass, too. I am embarrassed to tell too many people about my efforts because of my tendancy to fail. Online support and accountability might be what I need, afterall.2

I am 5'8", starting at 240, my heaviest. I have been on MFP on and off for years, but this time I have been consistently logging on 33 days, so far. I have lost 6 pounds so far. I would like to get down to 150 or so, and at least to 200 by December this year.4

I started 2 years ago but didn't really stick with it, so now I'm starting all over again this time. I'm 5'2, around 265lbs, my goals is to lose around 123lbs which means my goal weight is around 140lbs. I'm 20 btw. I would appreciate it so much if someone would be kind enough to want to be my friend here so we can support each other. Let's walk this journey to a better life together! Love this thread btw!2

Hi! I'm 39 and a stay at home mum. I wanted to use my time at home to lose weight etc but so far I've only gained (lost and gained a few times actually). Currently 271lbs and want to get to 170. I'm 5ft4 and will reassess my goal once I get to 170! I'd love to connect to people who have similar amounts to lose. I know I won't lose it before my 40th (in 4 mths) but I'd like to be in a better place than I am now. I am doing intermittent fasting and tracking calories on non fast days.3

Hi, I started at 230 been trying to eat right for 3 months and today at weigh in I've lost 30 pounds. I still have 50-55 to go. I will quote the Grinch right here "and this time I'll keep it off".2

I would love to be added as a friend - I'm currently around 230, goal is to be 150. Just starting with tracking and plan to add in exercise again too. I used to be in very good shape and even last spring did a Farrell boot camp (which I loved) & had started losing weight/inches - though I never tracked my eating. I stopped when I had scheduling conflicts with my children's activities and have now gained 20 pounds more3
