Don't want to lose anymore

edited December 2024 in Goal: Maintaining Weight
After 5 months of sticking to my fitness pal I have lost 21 lbs and have reached my goal weight. But now I find that I'm still losing weight and don't want to lose much more. How do I maintain the weight I am now without losing more??

Slowly keep increasing your calories until the scale stops moving downward
    This won't happen over night.
It takes Time to find what calories are right for you. Everyone is different
Raise your calories and keep reevaluating.

Depends how much you're currently losing per week...

If you're still losing 1lb per week then about 500 cals
If you're losing 0.5lbs per week then about 250 cals

Thanks guys. I'll monitor and experiment with my calories to see where I should be

Don't get discouraged if it takes several weeks or a month to figure this out
It took me about 6-7 weeks to find the right number.
Just slowly add on calories and it will eventually happen for you

And don't forget you want a maintenance range, not one single number, to account for fluctuations.

    This is great advice!

This is where I was a few months ago. It takes a while, but you learn to hold the balance and enjoy the leeway. Congratulations.

5 months isn't long when you have the rest of your life to eat the same way, apart from us getting an extra 250-500 calories/day, nothing really changes in maintenance...
