Is it just a shiver that lasts a few seconds, or lasts longer? For me, when I start shaking, I know my blood sugar has dropped dramatically and I need to eat something. I keep peanut butter crackers on hand for times like that.

I was thinking low blood sugar maybe? Does it usually happen when you haven't eaten in a while?

That happens to me when my blood sugar drops. It happens when I've eaten something liquidy sweet an hour or two earlier (like syrup) or when I've skipped meals and gone too long without food.

Have you had your blood glucose levels checked by your doctor? You may want to have that done, as out of control insulin can wreak havoc on weight gain/loss. Controlling insulin is very important to controlling your weight.

    Good luck!

That happens to me when I don't eat for while. Really make sure you are eating QUALITY foods lots of veggies and lean meats so you can fuel your body properly. =]

It's probably the PCOS. You should keep some whole-grain crackers on hand for when you start feeling shaky. You could even top them with a reduced-fat peanut butter.

  • I'm hypoglycemic and get that. Usually happens 3 hours after you eat on average. Normal blood sugar should be around 90-100 depending on the type of meter you are measuring by. I get the shakes if it goes into the 70's, anxiety attacks and blurry vision in the 60's etc. Right before I was diagnosed I passed out in the kitchen and had a seizure from it. When you feel that again ask to borrow your friends glucose meter. I had to do a 5 hour glucose test to be diagnosed. But it will cause setbacks with your weight if you aren't careful.

Best bet I've found is a few lifesavers if your in a pinch (don't advise it as you will have another crash in a few hours) but protein is your best bet so about 100 calories of natural (unsalted) almonds has been my life saver.
