There are no bad foods. It's all about calories in versus calories out

I disagree. Refined, or added, sugar is not good for you...

The MFP default sugar goal (for us smaller folks, at least) is ridiculously low. I'm repeating myself here, but at around 1400 calories consumed, I was routinely exceeding it by a good bit when the only added sugar I ate was a tiny amount of apple juice concentrate (that wasn't even the largest ingredient) in 1 daily tablespoon (30 calories) of all-fruit spread. The rest of the sugar was typically 2-4 whole fruit servings, plus the sugar inherent in no-sugar-added dairy products.

This was part of a way of eating that included multiple (5+, typically) vegetable servings, adequate protein for my size (a bunch of which came from the dairy foods, as I'm ovo-lacto vegetarian), and healthy fats (nuts, avocado, olive oil) with nearly every meal.

Unless you have a medical reason to limit sugar, this way of eating is fine, and healthy. If this way of eating takes you over your arbitrary MFP sugar goal, that's also fine, and healthy. In this context, there's no reason to worry about the sugar goal.

It's possible that if you go over your MFP sugar goal purely by consuming added sugars (hidden in processed foods, maybe), that would be crowding out useful nutrition elsewhere in your way of eating, and would therefore be a worry. Otherwise, meh.

OP, since your diary isn't complete, and since some of the entries are obviously wrong (there's no way a Starbucks Oat Fudge Bar has 0g sugar, and btw I'm totally jealous that Starbucks makes something called an Oat Fudge Bar where you live!), don't worry so much about your sugar totals just . Concentrate on logging accurately and completely, and then maybe try to increase your protein. After that, if you still feel you need to cut down on sugar, you can work toward that goal. I'd personally concentrate on your three macros (carbs, fat and protein)...I don't even track sugar in itself.

I think they are talking about health, not weight loss.

True. But the OP asked if it was bad that she kept going over her sugar. I stand by my advice that if she doesn't have a medical issue with sugar then she doesn't need to worry about it. That is not nonsense. Especially if her sugar is mostly coming from fruit. Sugar in moderation is not unhealthy for most people.
