More specifically, natural sugar, I constantly go over on sugar, but it's mostly from fruits and nut butters..I'm losing fine, but should I cut back on the fruits and nut butters?

Not if you are seeing the results you want. I don't worry about sugars in fruits at all. If they still fit into my calorie goals, it's all good.2
-
No.
Fruit is my life.3 -
I don't worry about natural sugars at all - added sugars I am always conscious of (I try to avoid processed foods in general and reach more for foods where the food itself is the ingredient, rice=rice, apple=apple)
I don't think, unless you have a medical condition which requires you to, you should worry about it, especially if you are losing weight and enjoying the foods you are eating.1 -
No, because it's never in my house. It's the Nutrient That Gallow Forgot. vOv0

Nut butters should NOT contain more than 1 gram of sugar per serving.
If you see SUGAR in the ingredients, throw it away.
Jiffy has added table sugar. Also added oils. Jiffy is a junk food.2 -
I was struggling with the same issue a while back. Natural sugars don't worry about - if you're going over because you're eating candy with every meal, then it's an issue0
-
I don't track or look at sugar content at all.6

I go over my sugar limit all the time--but it's not because I'm eating ice cream and candy bars every day. I'm like you, I get a lot of fruit--half a banana and frozen fruit in the morning smoothie, an apple or pear with lunch, and some berries or oranges with dinner.
Unless you have a medical reason to watch your sugar, don't worry about it.1 -
No...I eat very little in the way of added sugars and two or three servings of fruit per day...it's not an issue for me. There are lots of nut butters out there with zero added sugar...read the labels when you're shopping. I emphasize vegetables over fruit...but still have a couple servings of fruit daily...usually berries and cherries this time of year...apples in the winter along with grapefruit.0

You can pry my Jif from my cold dead hands.
I don't track sugar. No idea how much I get a day. Feel great and have lost weight fine.6 -
nope - I replaced the sugar listing with fiber in my diary. I don't eat a lot of things (outside of fruits and veggies) that have sugar anyway.0

With all the respect in the world, Jiffy Peanut butter is JUNK.
Try Smucker's All Natural.
Peanuts, salt - That's it.
No palm oil, hydrogenated fat, no corn syrup solids, soybean oil, who knows what else.5 -

If we're going that far, get off the peanuts altogether. Dat Almond/Cashew butter. Tree nuts ftw.0 -
I love Jiffy and I love nut butters.0

To add to this:
I don't have any medical issues, I'm active and I try to focus on lean meats, fruits and vegetables. I personally found that being overly restrictive on my sweets intake was counterproductive. I was able to lose weight and compete in a bodybuilding competition without worrying about sugar intake. At times where I happened to have higher intake of candy or sweets my body let me know that I needed to eat foods that are more filling.0 -

I'm more of a Peter Pan gal....in general I'm a peanut butter addict, but I only allow one serving a day. I've tried the more "natural" versions, but they just aren't near as good...0

Peter Pan
INGREDIENTS: ROASTED PEANUTS, CORN SYRUP SOLIDS*, SOY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE*, SUGAR, LESS THAN 2% OF: HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OILS (COTTONSEED AND RAPESEED), SALT, MINERALS (MAGNESIUM OXIDE, ZINC OXIDE, IRON PHOSPHATE, COPPER SULFATE). CONTAINS: PEANUTS, SOY.

Corn syrup solids are partially hydrolyzed liquid corn starches.2 -

May as well chew up peanuts and spit them on bread.
OT, I don't bother with sugar.6 -

I'm telling you, Smuckers Natural is THE BEST natural peanut butter I've had. It's so delicious on apples! I only allow myself to have it a few times a month when I'm trying to lose.2 -

Why are you so obsessed with trying to convince everyone that peanut butter is "junk food"? People have different opinions on what they consider junk... No reason to harp over it.11 -

You weren't talking to me, but I feel like Janet is just saying that peanut butter that has weird stuff in it like corn syrup solids isn't the best option. AND it also has ADDED SUGAR which is what OP was talking about. But people are free to choose whatever PB floats their boat. I love the Smuckers Natural but maybe it's an acquired taste? *shrugs* To each their own.0 -

I don't track sugar I track fiber. I find if you get adequate fiber, the sugar becomes a non issue. However if you have a medical condition that warrants tracking sugar, that is another story...2 -
I just want to add that you can lose weight without tracking sugar, obviously because CI/CO. BUT if you want to get rid of or prevent additional belly fat specifically, you have to watch added sugars. If that isn't a concern, then don't track it. I try to keep my added sugar under 25 grams a day to keep the belly fat at bay. With a body approaching 40, belly fat is my main concern and struggle.0

Unless you have a medical reason to track sugar then I wouldn't worry. I don't track it at all and honestly don't know if I go over or not. When it comes to peanut butter, I would eat whichever peanut butter brand you prefer.0

So you're saying it's sugar grams, not calorie overage, that causes your belly fat?6 -

How does added sugar cause belly fat specifically?5
