If I'm making a salad, I log 85 grams of lettuce but don't weigh it. For some reason I do weigh it for tacos. I have no idea why I do that.6

Lettuce can make you fat if you can manage to eat enough of it, so yeah, I weigh and count it.2
-
I count everything I eat. Even the super low calories stuff.8

Add me to the weigh it group.1

If I eat a bunch in a salad, yes I log it. A few leaves on a sandwich, no.10

^ This. I only log it if I'm eating a meal sized salad, which is usually 4 cups or so for me. If 50 calories worth of lettuce is going to sink my weight loss, then I'm doing something wrong haha.3 -
Dont sweat the small stuff!

I weigh it and count it.0

Yes.
Make a salad with a bunch of low-cal veggies and weigh each ingredient. A lunch-sized salad that I would typically make, including just the calories from lettuce, tomato, carrots, onion, raw broccoli, etc., runs about 50 calories. It also affects my micro/macro totals.
50 calories may not be a lot, but it's the bigger picture. 50 calories here and there plus some random calories from some spices or low-cal toppings or cooking spray or extra calories from errors/packaged food, so on and so forth - they do add up.
But if you're going to pick a hill to die on, I suppose there are probably better ones than lettuce.8 -
I used to weigh it. Now I just count it. I can eat like 60-100 calories of lettuce greens per day2
-
Yep I count everything even celery, though you burn more calories eating it & digesting it than it contains.0
-
If I'm having a salad, I count it... if I'm putting a leaf on a burger, I don't.1
-
If it passes through my lips ... it ends up in my log.7
-
I do, but it's usually 25 calories worth if I'm going to have some, so with a small deficit, it adds up!1
-
Yes, I log it, always, no matter the amount. I am accountable for all that goes into my body.0

I count everything. (Almost) Everything has calories, so ... count everything. I know at least one person who eats TONS of vegetables and is still very, very overweight. You can overeat any food.1
-
I will eat a head of lettuce at a time. While I don't weight it, I count it as 53 calories. However I'm lazy and I should weight it.0
-
Yeah every time I eat lettuce I eat a whole bag or box (yeah I know it's expensive and a waste but it keeps me on target because I'm too lazy to meal prep).0
-
Yes. Even 15g in a sarnie.0
-
Nah. I'll log it as a cup or two, but I don't think 15 cals of lettuce is going to make or break me.1
-
I agree about not sweating the lettuce. OTOH, some of the biggest mammals on this planet eat only greens - Elephant, Rhino.... Hippos:)0
-
Yup. I eat a big heap of it, and it's easy - salad bowl on the scale, tear up the lettuce into it, note the weight, zero the scale; slice the cucumber into it, note, zero; throw the cherry tomatoes into it, note, zero . . . .
Then if I look at MFP reports to see how I'm doing with various nutrients, everything's there (subject to the vagaries of the database); I have accurate-as-possible data to use in estimating my personalized calorie deficit and maintenance calories; I can count up my many, many veggie/fruit servings and gloat about it (), . . . .
You betcha.2 -
Hippopotamus...:)0
-
I estimate it 2,3,4, more cups and LOG it! I don't weight it though.1
-
For a salad, yes. For a burger, no.0
-
I log it always, don't always weigh it. However, I don't always weigh or log spices and herbs because I usually use very little of them. Helps me keep track of nutrients etc.2
