---Today I went to the gym and tried a new workout I found in Lifestyle magazine. If your like me, you stare at the clock and can't wait for it to say "30 mins." Especially when I use the stair-master! I listen to music, have the news on in front of me, and I still can't stand being on that machine longer than 10 minutes. Time goes by soooo slowly when working out. Let's be honest... it hurts! Heres how I made things interesting:

If you want to burn calories fast, sweat A LOT, and tone your legs, *kitten*, etc, then try this:

Treadmill: 5 min jog at 6.5 mph for warm up

Stairs: 5 min at a reasonable pace

Back to the treadmill: Jog 5 min

Stairs: 5 min

Treadmill: 5 min

Stairs: 5 min

Treadmill: jog 5 min cool down :)

Just when I would start to cramp really bad doing stairs I would switch to a nice jog to loosen back up. Repeat 3 times and you have yourself a hard but simple workout. I burned 500 calories in just 30 minutes! Changing things up every five minutes really helped me, I hope you find it helpful as well

Sounds like a good thing to try when the gym isn't busy. I too, hate that god forsaken stair climber. =) Love-hate relationship.

This is an awesome idea! Heck, if the gym is crowded I bet even going on the bike wouldn't be too bad.

I'd love to try that out sometime, not on Monday's my gym is crazy then, but it would help make the time go by faster since you wouldn't be staring at the clock that long.

That sounds like a great idea! Both of those are a bit difficult for me at the moment, so I started doing walking in place alternating with calf raises and knee raises. If your heart rate is up, and you're feeling the burn, you know it's working!
