    OP, "carbs" means sugar and starch. So, bread, rice, corn, potatoes, sugar, honey etc. Carbs are the biggest source of energy for most people, except those on low-carb diets who eat protein and fat instead.

    (and yes, I've just found out about this anomaly where American nutrition labels classify fibre under "total carbs", but that is not a helpful classification, as we can't digest fibre, it provides no calories and does not behave as a carb in the body).

    The calories in fruits and vegetables are mostly carbs. Water is not usually involved in classifying foods, otherwise soda would not be classified as a carb. Personally, I don't classify foods anyway because it has no bearing on my nutrition, but conventionally fruits and vegetables are known as carbs (usually called non starchy carbs).

    I'm seeing the makings of the next diet craze, high crab low carb diet. I think you're onto something, OP. Maybe call yourself a guru and go with it?

    Personally, I'm on the Low Crab High Fruit diet and it works like a charm! Maybe I should start a group here. :)

    I wouldn't mind a high crab diet, but crabs are expensive.

    Unless you catch them yourself. Much hubby and a went out "fishing" for blue and stone crabs over 4th of July. Free minus the cost of our fishing license.

    I don't personally like crab. A low crab diet sounds fine to me.

    Too much Crab will make you fat. You should aim to meet your Lobster Macros instead.

    High fish, low crab is the way to go.

    I love crab and carbs. Ohhh some crab with a big sourdough roll sounds good right now! Lucky me - a coworker gave me some fresh caught crab yesterday - another coworker was supposed to take it and didn't so I got it! YUMMY!

    OP, your post makes me happy. To answer your question in simple ways, things like pasta, potatoes, vegetables, grains, fruit, sugar, cookies, bread, are all mostly carbs. Other foods are a mix of macronutrients. Example peanuts. Lots of carbs. Also fat and protein too. Meat on other hand is all protein and fat. Unless it's breaded :) Dairy is usually mostly fat and protein, but also have some carbs, especially if it's sweetened like yogurt.
