I personally don't think it's necessary to show pics of my success. Why? Because I'm not looking for compliments OR comments from strangers on the internet.
Honestly, I find these types of posts nothing more than a cry for attention.
Shouldn't we be better than this?
Umm its not a cry for attention if its asked for and appreciated. I love these posts because they give me motivation and a reality check that it actually can be done! Keep on lady's and gentleman keep on! Congrats on all your successes. They deserve to be applauded!!
Not a cry for attention by any means, but even if it was, is that so bad?? These people are so inspiring and make those of us who need to lose a lot of weight feel like it's possible by being able to see the progress with our own eyes!! I look at the success stories daily to remind myself it's possible and I'm not just kidding myself. Knowing others have lost the weight makes me a believer that I can do it to!

The thing that keeps me motivated to stick with it is that I know what it's like to be thin compared to not.
I had done it, I had lost the weight before. I was more social. I was confident. I even wore a bikini and felt proud of myself. That only lasted so long though until I self-sabotaged myself. I mean the rule is If you lose weight you get a free pass to eat whatever - right? And if your boyfriend sucks, you can definitely be justified an extra dessert. Heck, just about everything in my life became an excuse to stop caring about myself.
For a while I managed to convince myself that it was okay I stopped caring. It makes me mad at myself for how little self worth I felt towards myself when I know what it's like to be happy instead. I work really hard and often I feel that I am missing out on my life because of it. The truth is, I've been letting myself miss out on it. This realization is what continues to guide me though my life change. I would like to say I'm not the person who cares about the weight loss, because I do. I accomplish so much at work I want to feel accomplished with myself. I have never done a post before, but this has helped me admit things to myself that needed to be admitted. There is no stopping me now.

I started MFP in 2012, lost 78 lbs by 2013 (240 to 162) and am restarting my journey again at 178. Lol I'm also just now observing the many colors my hair has been along the way!
