What excersises are best in the morning?

So I've been thinking about doing some excersises in the morning (on the days I'm not working) and just wondering what are best. I'm thinking yoga? Or do I go straight in for some hardcore cardio? Any suggestions and any benefits such as boost metabolism for the rest of the day. Thanks

Whatever you do, don't forget stretches!
This for me is where yoga ticks boxes, especially for strengthening core1 -
Do whatever exercise makes you happy and you feel comfortable with.
Do you feel comfortable doing yoga in the morning - do it!
Do you feel comfortable going for a walk - do it!
Do you feel comfortable lifting heavy in the morning - do it!
I would say if you are completely unfit to start with the "lighter" exercises like yoga, stretching, walking etc. and build yourself up to hardcore cardio and lifting.
For boosting the metabolism throughout the day you want to try do some HIIT - High intensity workouts - as these have shown to create an after effect of burning calories.1 -
I agree with Ricksh1000---stretching and yoga is fantastic! It will massage your organs and get your body digestive system flowing. Great way to start the day
Personally, I don't like other more intense exercises like running or workouts in the morning because it feels like too much too soon. I feel more ready for Pilates style exercise in the afternoon.1 -
The best exercise is what you enjoy and what you will consistently do.
I love workout in the mornings - I have so much more energy, not only for the workout, but it gives me a boost throughout the entire day.2 -

For me ... getting out of bed, becoming presentable, walking 0.4 km as part of my commute, climbing 2 flights of stairs to work, and then getting a cup of coffee is about all I can manage. More exercise comes later in the day when my muscles wake up.1
