Spent 7 days in las palmas on a all inclusive holiday and weigh 9.6 kg more how the hell did that happen.i know I over ate everyday with 3 buffet meals a day but it still seems like 9.6 kg is a lot to gain in 7 days

    A) Water weight will be the main culprit

    B) You will also have gained fat if you ate over maintenance everyday.

Get back in a caloric deficit and go from there.

Most buffets contain very salty foods. Salt works in your body to hold water. Drink plenty of water over the next few days to flush the salt out. You'll probably lose half that in water weight.

You've probably gained fat, depending on how much you ate, but probably more like 25-33% of your gain.

Yes and not only water weight from the type of food but also from your flight. I noticed last flight I had my ankles ballooned and sure enough the water weight, about 4lbs, came off in a few days. So give it a week of eating back at your 'normal' and then reassess.

I was going to say the same. If you took a flight you will potentially be holding quite a bit of water weight. Get back to a deficit, get active and drink plenty of water. You'll be back to pre-holiday weight in no time, don't stress. You can also use this as a learning tool as you have seen how your body reacts to suddenly eating everything in sight. ;)

That would be a LOT of excess calories per day. Likely a combo of fat, water, and food in your system. I know if I eat quite a bit more than usual over the course of a few days, it takes a few more for my body to fully... er... expel all the waste. Those before and after scale weights are fun. :) TMI?
