I AM starting to get back into the groove of things but it seems that when they said my calorie count it seems a little high or was I just too low?

It might be high. It might be low. It might be just right. We can't possibly guess without knowing more. Could you share your stats (age, weight, height, activity level), goals, and how many calories MFP suggested?

You're current weight is 48 lbs, your goal weight is 176 lbs, you're 67 years old, hair color light, and you want to live for 148 years?

If that's right, I'd say 1,560 calories might be correct.

You could always try it and see what happens. Why do you feel 1560 is such a high number?

It may sound high but many people tend to underestimate how many calories they are actually eating.

Log your food meticulously using a food scale for all solids so that you can get as close as possible to your actual calorie intake amount. After you try that given number for a few weeks, you can see how you respond to it and adjust the calories if necessary.

Do you get charged by the character or word?

Try it for a month and adjust if required. It's not a race, especially when you are 176 years old.

By the way the goal is 1560 + exercise calories.

No, that doesn't seem to high at all. I say try that for a month and see where it gets you. If you're not losing 1.5lbs-1lb per week, adjust your calories accordingly. You don't really want to lose more than 2lbs per week, though.
