Now what?

Okay, so combatting the inevitable way that I felt this morning after the traditional festivities of yesterday, (and hitting up first watch), I find myself already over my sugar intake that I've upped from what's suggested anyway!?!?!

Sugar is where I ALWAYS find myself going over. And I want to be better about that.

What are some options for the rest of the food for me today? I don't even know what to eat other than leftover hotdogs and carrots.

if you are always finding yourself craving sugar try freezing berries. I always buy huge things of rasberries and blueberries and stick them in my freezer. if your already over today it wont help but i find it really helps me stay away from the surary snacks.
as for the rest of the day, try fruit smoithies and add a scoop of protien powder to feel a bit fuller longer.
also something i do in summer, i get plain protien poweder (i like soygenics, 110cals and 24g of protien) and add water ice and sugar free pudding mix to and blend, if you blend long enough with enough ice it turns into almost an icecream like treat! i often use sugar free butterscotch or sugar gree pastacio. the entire box it 100 cals, and i use about a third. thats less than 200 cals and you get tons of protien and it fixes my sweet tooth :)

What is your sugar coming from? I always go over on sugar too, but I eat a lot of fruit. I ignore sugar now. ;-)

I find Regular Oatmeal the most helpful for me. Zero sugar, low in sodium (only 75mg an instant pouch), and 100 calories. Helps me get my intake while staying under on sugar and my trouble spot, sodium. It's not for everyone though (most people I talk to don't like plain oatmeal).

I'm finding that I easily go over my sugar limit too. I don't even think that I'm really going for sugary foods. Seems it's in most things! I think the key is to research and find things that you like that are low in sugar and stock up for the week. If you don't have some low sugar foods available, then you'll no doubt eat whatever is around. I'm working on this too!

That's tough to control but don't kill yourself about it. You would die if you realized (opps, now you do) the amount of hidden sugars in everything, like the corn syrups, frutcose, blah blah blah, on so on. Just do the best you can and remember there are different kinds of sugars we eat and the body deals with them differently, example; simple sugars vs. complex sugars.
