Hey there, I've done home workouts since last December. I lost my first 10lbs doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, level 1 and 2 are free on YouTube, I bought level 3 on Amazon instant video for 3$. After that I slacked off a bit but in March I started p90x, finished round 1 and lost around 30lbs, I'm on week 2 of my second round. Not ready to share pics as I have a long way to go but I believe you can achieve your goals at home. I suggest you get some dumbbells and do some strength training as well, it really helps shape you better than just cardio based workouts. I wish you the best on your journey!17

Hi, I do everything at home too. I invest on a treadmill, got me 2 set of hand weights and do videos from YouTube . I had lost 22 lbs in 2 and a half months. So it is possible you just have to put your mind to it.
I actually like it better bc I can just jump on the treadmill whenever I want to and do 10-15 min. at the time. At the end of the day it ads up.
Good luck15 -
I use fitnessblender.com there is a lot of free videos to choose. Good luck!12

I haven't been to the gym once since starting my new healthy lifestyle. I've watched videos on YouTube by fitness blender and Jillian Michaels. And I walk and jog for 30-45 mins. I now have a DVD by Jillian Michaels that I watch, each workout is 20 mins long and I still go for walks and jog. I do plan on going to the gym one day, but until I'm comfortable enough to I'm fine with working out at home. And yes I've lost weight doing it. 61 lbs so far!30

I do all home workouts and just reached 40 pounds lost! I started in April with a standing bike. Over the months I have added 5 pound dumbbells, 5 pound kettle bell and a set of resistance bands. All in all I have spent about 300 dollars on equipment. I also utilize my local tracks (I am lucky, I have 3 in a two mile radius) to get in a wall run everyday. I devout anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour for a workout and try to workout twice a day. All in all I am so glad I never got a gym membership.

I have set foot in the gym once to workout since I started in January and that was to help a friend get certified for teaching a new group class.
I did a lot of Fitness blender workouts in the beginning, then started You Are Your Own Gym. Last month I started Strong Curves at home. I've had to buy a fair amount of equipment: bench, step, dumbells, bar & plates, resistance bands...but it's all been worth every penny though since I hate the gym lol.
I've lost 42lbs so far and am 3lbs from my goal.15 -
Thx all !0

I just recently started being able to do you tube workouts to Shauna Kathleen Barre work really AWESOME, Bob Harper - love love love him, some Fitness Blender - they are still quite boring to me, one Jillian Michaels she's to tough, GymRa- I really like- Chris Powell I LOVE him to the moon and back but only found 3, and XHIT really on point. I belong to a gym but haven't gone in a while will use it to build muscle again. And I walk and jog 45min. some days.
I have lost in a year 50lbs. so far. I have another 110lbs. to lose.7 -
I do home only workouts (plus walking and recently started jogging) since October and I am down 62lbs.
I have done 21day fix workouts, T25 and currently doing P90. You don't need a gym10 -
I am terrible in attending gyms. So I built a circuit at home.
It consists of:
Sit ups, push ups ...
Dumbbell arms raises in various directions
Resistance bands
Barbell raises.
It takes 30 min each day and gets me sweating .
I have abs from it and toned arms.
I run and cross country ski for cardio.

Certainly don't need a gym! I started out doing MaxT3 workouts, I've lost almost 65 pounds doing that, mixing in walking/running, weights, and just started Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. It can be done!7

I've lost nearly 50 lbs working out at home. I do have a substantial amount of equipment. Pairs of Dumbells up to 50 lbs, a barbell that accomodates lower weights, and olympic barbell and weights, a bench, bodylastics bands, stability ball, etc. I use a lot of Cathe Friedrich DVDs and have started to venture into programs posted on bodybuilding.com. I'd say, do what you can, invest in new equipment slowly, eat fewer calories than you burn and you should have success. There are a lot of good suggestions on this thread Best of luck to you!5

Fitnessblender, Jessica Smith, Popsugar for me. (And whatever else pops up that I like! I like variety.) I do 30 or more minutes a day, usually. Sometimes I add in a short video or two from Blogilates, but I prefer all-in-one videos that include a warm-up and cool down. I have some dumbbells, a physio ball, and a yoga mat, but you can do a lot of these with no equipment. I like to throw in some easy yoga, too - usually Yoga With Adriene. This approach has worked so well for me; no way would I get to a gym every day, and this is free and super-convenient. I enthusiastically endorse it!5

I've been doing workouts at home since starting my journey. I'm down 37 pounds. I do fitness DVDs and search stuff on youtube. I don't feel comfortable exercising at the gym because I feel like I'm being criticized so I don't bother. I'm sure nobody is paying attention to me but that's how I feel. You can be successful at home if you stay consistent and put in the work.6

I just found yoga with a drin and I like it but I am on my 3rd attempt an's not through day 1...I get a bit farther each day and won't five up.
I have a pool and have been swimming and doing my own version of aqua fit. and just starting home weight lifting. I am down 40 pounds. I was walking before the heat came and will go back to walking in the fall. Jillian in tje winter. I get bored easy so I try and switch it up.
I'm feeling a bit like not exercising last couple days but that's the first time since I started my 7 I am enjoying home workout4 -
I started in late March, using a generic WW Points system and I walk a mile a day. Doesn't sound too exciting a plan but I'm 56 and have lost 30 pounds. I've slacked last few weeks due to vacation (no gains yay...), so I'm back to my spreadsheet and walking my dog. Hope to be down another 15 by end of Oct.4

100% try FitnessBlender on Youtube. They have so much variation you really can't get bored!
I have been using their videos for 30-40 minutes 3-4 times a week since the start of May and have noticed huge improvements in my fitness. I've also lost 1 stone 7lbs and FINALLY started to lose my stubborn arm fat!
My usual weekly plan is:
Monday: Cardio or HIIT video
Wednesday: Legs with weights/body weight
Friday: Arms with weights
Sunday: Abs and cardio
(ps. I do also walk at least an hour a day - when I start driving I will likely add in another workout to my week)3 -
I've only ever done home workouts and have had great success. The key is nutrition, so if you can dial that in, the workouts will only add to your success. I did the Jillian Michaels workouts with success and am now onto the 21 day fix workouts and they are great.
Good luck! You've got this!3 -
