I did one I want prepared for at all. It was hard. Really hard.
My biggest advice is to be prepared to be really sore. Like really sore. I was anyway.0 -

I made it in one piece. I'm alive.
Swim was 21:20
Tran 1 was 2:09
Cycle was 47:37
Tran 2 was 1:23
Run was 34:12
It was very frustrating. The strap on my goggles snapped and I had to grab a spare pair at the turn around.
The chain came off my bike 3 times on the cycle and I had to stop to pee in the bushes during the run.
All in all, I was delighted that I finished it and I raised a bit for a very good charity, but I definitely could have got around quicker.
Stopping to pee is wasted time!
Seriously though, congrats! Glad you were able to make it through and finish well!0 -
Looks like you did well for not being prepared. I have one in a couple of weeks that I don't feel as prepared for as I would like...I know I can finish, but not finishing last in my age group is the goal and beating my brother, who is also not as prepared as he would like to be.0

Once you learn how to pee on the bike, life becomes so much easier And yup, black shorts always helps.0

For future reference to people. I don't recommend taking on activities you aren't prepared for (you are tempting fate to give you a nice injury). If you are rather in shape but just aren't specifically trained for it, that is a different tale. In that case, with about 2 weeks to prepare - Eat healthy. Get enough sleep. And just stay active. Trying to cram in serious training will just risk injury. But you can drastically improve your performance by doing those three things.0
