Choice for beginner

I want to start going to the gym and i was looking for a routine. Are these good workouts for a beginner? If not, what are some better ways to start? Also, when should I switch from a beginner routine to intermediate? Last question is should i eat something before going to gym, or should I just have a protein shake after finishing?

    Aworkoutroutine.com has a lot of great information and no BS. a simple full body workout 3 times a week would be a great place to start.
