I've heard wonderful things and have done research on this product. Today is my first day taking it. I drank it in a glass of water. 1 teaspoon. Has anyone taken it and seen any good results?

I looked into it to get rid of slugs in my garden...the thought of ingesting it on purpose gives me the shivers!

I believe it's been said to lower cholesterol. I have never looked at any studies or anything though so not sure how valid.

I've fed it to my dogs before when I was concerned they came into contact with an animal with worms (I used to foster dogs as well, but decided between worms and kennel cough my babies were being exposed to too much). Are you concerned you have parasites?

I worked with a guy that put in his orange juice every morning. He thought he had worms though. I feed it to my dogs and put it in the yard. Never ate it. I think it's fine like you said, it is food grade.

As I said earlier hype or hope...only the user can determine any benefit

    words of caution:

On any site claiming human health benefits and selling diatomaceous earth for the purpose of human consumption you will find a disclaimer that points out that the product is not actually approved by the Food and Drug Administration and is only technically considered to be unofficial information for research purposes.

This is not to say that diatomaceous earth does not provide these health benefits. In fact, with enough funding and scientific research diatomaceous earth could possibly be approved for human consumption and prove to be very helpful in maintaining the health of both humans and animals.

Please use your own discretion and utilize various research methods when choosing to consume food grade diatomaceous earth. Do not be fooled by sites that claim to have a product that is registered for human consumption, as the information they provide is not scientific but rather a collection of testimonials.

below is a PubMed findings in regard to possible lowering cholesterol "concentration" but not yet anything conclusive. Those on statins toss em out and take this! (I'm kidding of course)

I've been taking it for a month now and my hair and nails have grown so much. I got it for my Fibro and it's helped me a lot. A few suggestions are don't mix it with anything metal like a spoon, you will mess up the elements somehow, you can mix in anything basically instead of water. And I'm up to a tablespoon a day now.

Also read the reviews on Amazon. It lowers blood pressure and glucose. You can add it to your facial soap and also apply to your hair.

Looking forward to seeing some results! I just started taking it yesterday. I've seen great reviews and YouTube videos on it. Not sure how I was lead to it but I had to try it for myself :) I'd like to at least see my hair and nails healthier. Thanks for the post.

Wouldn't the effects be a bit like taking kaolin for the squits?

    Talk about *kitten* a brick.

Obviously you are an expert in *kitten* bricks, which I am not, and to ease your mind, there have been no evidence linked to such cases, especially mine. ;)
