Co-workers Causing Stress Eating

Does anyone have some solutions for dealing with co-worker dynamics? I find that in our breakroom, there's an awful lot of drama chat. I was already going through some personal stuff last week...so I decided to not go in the breakroom last week to eat with them. That's when I noticed I couldn't finish my lunch! Then I went out walking with the rest of my short lunch break. The problem is, some of the more nicer co-workers I have started making comments about me not being there, toward the end of the week...so it made me feel like I need to put in "face time" with them.

Got any suggestions for finding balance with co-worker relations & stress eating?

This is always a difficult situation :explode: . I almost always have lunch alone because after so many hours of working with them, lunch is my downtime, especially if people are continually griping in the breakroom. You might try telling them the truth in a diplomatic way--you don't want to spend your rest time gossiping and complaining, or listening to them do the same. Maybe just say, hey, let's not talk about work today! And change the subject. Good luck!! :flowerforyou:

Do any of them sign your pay check ? Are any of them involved in decisions that effect your career ? If your answer is no, then to heck with them. Life is way too short to deal with petty people. If your answer is yes, deal with it and start looking for another job. Life is way too short to deal with petty people.
