Besides nuts and the usual produce that I have to buy, sardines! (Don't be grossed out). Low cal, high protein, great source of calcium. Perfect for quickly filling in calories w/o having to cook.

Right now I'm obsessed with Quaker Lightly Salted or plain rice cakes (the regular size, not the mini)! I can eat 3 for only 105 total calories, 21g of carbs, and only 45g of sodium! Really good calorie "bang for your buck" so to speak. They are really good with peanutbutter, cream cheese, Laughing Cow cheese, or just plain.

I'm surprised to see how many people have nuts on their list ... they are great for protein and good fats, but are not really very low in calories.

    My faves for low cal:

    Laughing cow cheese
    Mini babybel light cheese
    Sugar snap peas
Sliced red, yellow or orange bell pepper
    Jicama
Any fresh fruit - I think the only fresh fruit I don't care for is persimmon
    Non-Fat yogurt
    Hard boiled egg

    fat free veggie dip:

1 cup fat free sour cream
1 cup fat free mayo [I use a bit less...more like 1/2 cup]
    2 T dry dillweed
    minced garlic [or powder]
minced onion [the dried kind, or onion powder]
    salt

mix and dip veggies into it. If there's any left over [my family loves it], refrigerate covered.

I forgot to add PB2 (powdered peanut butter) all the tastiness and yummyness of peanut butter w/o all the fat and cals!
