Sodium question

Do you guys think it's okay to eat extra sodium if you drink extra water? (I'm talking like maybe 400mg extra sodium) Or does that make you retain water/bloat?

Do you have a medical reason to watch your sodium intake? If not, you'll be fine. You might retain water, you might not.

400 mg extra over what? The USDA recommended level is 2300. The average American gets over 4000.

I don't understand the specifics of the question, or even the question, but I do take in more salt than usual when I drink more water than usual. I don't notice any water retention, and personally I believe bloating is a hype.

Just be aware that too much salt can cause high blood pressure, with no symptoms, so unless you get your blood pressure checked regularly, you won't know if you have a medical reason.

It also can depend on how much sodium you eat in the first place. If you're already over by a lot, then I'd at least keep an eye on it. For weight loss it won't matter at all, for health reasons it could in the future.
