Does Contrave work? I am 20 and wondering if it works in younger people?

I think everyone posting here is trying to help, no need to get upset or think anyone is saying anything negative about you. I think it's kind of people to make suggestions & urge caution with any medication.
It's terrific you've lost 100 lbs so far, that's an amazing accomplishment! You should be very proud of yourself. Maybe you could focus on feeling great about what you've accomplished rather than feel bad you've got a little way to go...that might help your mood. Also, before taking a med that might have unpleasant side effects, why not give MFP a try; adjust your profile input, put 1lb per week, & see how many calories MFP gives you. If you follow that, weigh& measure all of your food, track everything that goes into your mouth, I bet you will lose that last 20 lbs without having to bother with meds!

I've been on Contrave for 8 weeks now. The only thing the drug is going to do is make you think about food less and not feel as hungry when you are eating.
That's it. No magic potion, no fat burning secrets.
If you are doing all the other things you need to do - eating the right combination of macronutrients, staying below a calorie target, moving your body - then it will help keep you on track. But it mainly works on the brain so won't help you shed the last 20 pounds unless you are putting the other work in too.2 -

How much did you lose prior to the last 20 pounds?
How did you lose that weight in the first place, and why are you using a weight loss pill now?
I, personally, would run from any doctor who would be willing to prescribe me a weight loss pill to lose 20 pounds.0 -

Here's the deal.
Any weight loss drug will work if you eat at a calorie deficit, but none will work if you eat at maintenance or a surplus.
Hence, the drug is 100% unnecessary.
Set your goals to lose .5 pounds a week, stay within your calorie limits and you will lose weight.0 -
I don't think that Contrave should be prescribed to someone with as little to lose as you, but what do I know? If you want to take it and risk the side effects, that's up to you.
BUT....
Everyone will tell you that the less you have to lose, the harder it is for the weight to come off. Twenty pounds might seem like a lot to you, but in the grand weight loss scheme of things, it isn't. I know you've gone the WHOLE ENTIRE SUMMER without losing anything, but this is not uncommon.....
ESPECIALLY if you're not accurate about your food intake. And we have no idea if you are or if you aren't because you refuse to answer people's questions and your diary is closed.
How are you measuring your food intake? With measuring cups? A food scale? Or are you guessing/eyeballing your portions?
Are you eating back your exercise calories? If so, how are you measuring your burns? If you're using the MFP database, be warned that it is notoriously over generous in the amount of calories it says that you've burned. Most people recommend only eating back half of the exercise calories that that database gives you.
I hope Contrave provides the miracle you're hoping for, but if it doesn't, there is a whole community of people here that can tell you how to lose 20 lbs without pills.
