Anyone on here do pole fitness/pole dancing? Its something I've been interested in for a long time but there's nothing where I live. I would love to hear from people who do it or are interested in doing it.

I do burlesque and go-go dancing. I do other kinds of dancing as well. I haven't tried pole dancing yet, but definitely looks fun! Another option you might like is Aerial dancing.

I'm a poler! Best thing I've ever done. I've only been doing it a year. But the strength and flexibility you gain from it is amazing. I go to class once a week and have my own pole at home. It's addictive! Xx

I went out with some friends a few years ago while on vacation we ended up at a local strip club. One of the dancers actually used the pole very well in her act. The strength and flexibility that this required was very impressive. Up until thn I would have laughed at pole fitness classes but now I understand.

When I lived in a more populated area I took pole classes. I loved it. It made me feel sexy & it was something I enjoyed that got me moving.

Yes, it takes talent, skill, flexibility, strength, grace, creativity, work. It's an art form.

Yep, I had my first ever lesson five weeks ago. Got hooked so fast I just got an x-pole so I can work out at home too.

So much fun and very challenging. Unfortunately my current schedule conflicts with local lessons atm, otherwise I'd be going twice a week!

Fellow poler here. I've been poling for about 19 months now, and it's pretty spectacular. The amount of strength that I've gained is amazing. My flexibility has improved, and I'm also much more comfortable with my body now. I go to class once a week and pole at home 1-2x a week depending on my schedule, sometimes I don't have time for the at home poling, but I never miss a class unless it's due to sickness or injury.

I just started doing other aerial arts (trapeze & silks) last week and the class was not as difficult as I expected due to pole. I definitely recommend it to any and everyone.

With a pole at home can you set it up and take it down?

Yes. Mine came with clear instructions, and it has to be seated under a ceiling joist. It was simple to put up and is designed to be portable, but it took two of us to do it due to the weight of it and needing to get it properly in place with a spirit level. It would be a pain in the butt to do it too often, I imagine.

Which is why I don't take my down, lol. I actually had my dad make my pole semi permanent by screwing a permanent mount to my ceiling. I did this b/c it made me feel more secure, but that's just me being a little paranoid. When I move out of my apartment, I'll just fill those holes in with some putty or some ceiling stuff that he mentioned. They'll never know the difference.

I'll probably be switching my sport (static) pole out for my x-pert (spinning & static) out sometime this winter. I originally purchased the sport b/c it was what I could afford and then my friend was selling her x-pert for cheap, so I nabbed it. So when my dad comes home for winter break, I'm going to have him make the change for me.
