Can sweating heavier in one area(stomach) help you lose more weight in that area?

I am looking to lose 17lbs and go down a few inches around my stomach. I saw the Sweet Sweat band and think that thing is a great idea, but my boyfriend said it doesnt work. Wouldnt sweating more in that one localized area increase weight loss and inches down in that area? Its a band that wraps around your stomach to promote additional sweating while working out. Not worried about the cream side of that deal, just the idea of the band.
Thanks for your help!

All it does is dehydrate that part of your body. Guess what, the water comes right back. You can't spot reduce.1

No. Not even a little bit.

I agree with others that the sweat band will not help you lose weight in a specific area.
However, I do have and use the Sweet Sweat belt and sweet sweat 'enhancer' about 1-2x a week. I love using the enhancer on my muscles for bike rides because they don't feel as tired throughout. I really like to see how much I sweat when I use it and the band or just the band alone. Usually I specifically wear it to lose water weight, to help my posture, and for some extra motivation since it really produces a lot more sweat.0 -
I guess I don't understand the significance of sweating excessively during exercise. Any water weight you lose is just that.. water.. that your body needs to stay healthy and hydrated. That weight will be gained right back when you re-hydrate after exercise. Unless you're a fighter looking to cut weight before a weigh in, forcing yourself to sweat just for the sake of sweating seems counterproductive.6

Look up Jen Heward on You Tube. She talks about Sweet Sweat.0

IF you're sweating a lot in your tummy region, all that means is your muscles in that area are getting warmer, and the body is trying to cool that area back down.... That's it. When you "Burn fat" the fat is broken down into a gas form and exits your body through your mouth. Not through sweat.

Sweat doesn't equate to weight loss since you have to hydrate it back to live.0

Nope. You cannot spot reduce. You can temporarily dehydrate the cells in an area, but as soon as you rehydrate it'll be back.0

Nope. The only area it will make you lose weight is in your wallet.1

This is called dehydration and is not a desirable effect.1 -
