Blender help! Nutribullet, ninja, or other?

So I accidentally spilled dishwashing liquid all over the motor of my knock off magic bullet. Sad!

I'm in the market for a new blender now, but I'm intimidated by the variety and price range of blenders.

My needs:
-withstand daily use (I make shakes with ice and like the ice to be well blended/no chunks)
-easy to wash/rinse. Even better if dishwasher safe
-hoping for under $150
-preferably something I can buy at bed bath and beyond because I have a gift card and coupons :)

Sometimes I blend salsa and cooked vegetables, so if it can do that, it's a plus!

I've read about the nutribullet and that one looks nice. I'm not sure if I have a preference for the ones that have individual cups or just a big container.

Thanks in advance!

I liked my nutribullet, but I had to be careful to have it closed all the way or it leaked down into the motor. I decided to get a ninja that included not just the big blender but single serve container you can blend in and a food processor type one that can even mix and kneed dough. I am far happier with it than I was the nutibullet. It blends up the ice in my protein shake in 15 seconds or so giving a nice smooth drink. If I could afford it I would get a vitamix, but I am extremely happy with the ninja. I think it was about $200 Canadian at Costco. Probably substantially less expensive in the US.

    I have the nutribullet
    and I like it! :p

I can only compare it to a regular Cuisine Art Blender. And from what I noticed the fruits are a lot smoother from the nutribullet. Especially the strawberries!

I like that it's small and compact
I can make a serving just for me, so it's perfect for a solo or duo serving
It doesn't take up a lot of counter space
It's easy and faster to wash compared to my blender
    cheaper than the ninja lol
and I can just put a lid on my nutribullet and place it in my lunchbag and and walk out with it!

But then again if I had the money to shell out I would possibly get the ninja... but in the end either blender is still going to give you something nutri-delicious! Remember, the blender is just a tool, what you put in it is what's most important ;)

I like the nutribullet (it was a gift, so I didn't look at any others!) but it states it isn't dishwasher safe. The motor sure (it's easy to rinse and wash) - but the plastic cups "accidentally" (aka my boyfriend decided he didn't fancy washing them) went into the dishwasher and look just fine.

It blends ice and frozen anything well! I make protein shakes in it too.

Consumer reports rates the ninjas very highly. If there is a kohls in your area (or order on line) they often go on sale and if you have on eof thwit charge cards often get coupons for any extra 30-30% off

I have this, bought I through Amazon. Ran me 35$ and works just as well as the nutri-ninja I had previously, which the motor died in. I like the variety and number of cups with lids, since my kids like to make smoothies also.

Nutri Ninja FTW !!! I have had the smaller options like the Cuisinart and the Nutribullet but the Ninja Auto IQ KILLS the rest of them... if you can get the " kit " that comes with the 2 " personal " cups, the MASSIVE Blender attachment and the medium attachment... I think Costco and Sams both have them for under $150. The personal cups are a little to small for my liking and the large attachment makes waaaaay more than one serving but it seems the medium attachment is just right. The think is a POWERHOUSE and works flawlessly, if mine broke today I would go get another in a heartbeat.
  • I have the ninja and I love it! I wish I had the single cup attachment but it works so well I can't complain.

I have a NutriBullet and love it...but...I've had several.

I got one for a Christmas present one year, and used it almost daily to make breakfast smoothies. After a little more than a year, the motor burned out. I was sad panda.

So I bought a replacement base on Amazon, thinking, "Well just the NutriBullet motor is burned out, so I'll just buy a motor." Somehow the new motor was way too high-powered, and it would unscrew the lid. No matter how tightly I screwed the lid, within seconds the motor unscrewed it, making a huge mess.

Being cheap, I next bought a smaller NutriBullet--I was using the Magic Bullet, but I bought a smaller one. Turns out it was crappy, with not nearly the power of the other one, and much, much smaller.

Finally I caved and bought a new Magic NutriBullet--along with a three-year warranty. Should've just done that in the first place, but I wasted money on the replacement base and the smaller Bullet.

If you're looking to use it often, you may want to go ahead and shell out the big bucks for the Vitamix. I'm thinking of suggesting to my family they pitch in and buy me one as my only Christmas gift this year, I know I would use it every day.

I have a nutri bullet that I use for my single serve protein shakes and a knockoff vitamix clone I got from Aldi for everything else. It probably doesn't stand up to the real vitamix, but for a $50 blender it does a great job. Soups, icy drinks, pesto, cashew butter... Had it roughly 3 years.

Up until last week i would have recommended the nutribullet, but i made banana icecream (nicecream) in it last week and it blew up! But for regular smoothies, it worked fine.

They may be a bit more expensive, but I LOVE my Vitamix. I have a dry and wet blender, so I can grind grains, coffee etc with one and the other can even make soups. Plus they have fantastic warranties, if it breaks they replace or fix it.

    LOVE IT!

We got the Ninja with attachments at Costco and love it. That thing makes smoothies like nothing else we've had. Plus I like the food processor attachment. Used it a lot for cutting up vegetables for braising beef.

I've had a Ninja for 2-3 years and love it. I bought it at Wal-Mart for 80 bucks (over cheaper models) and would pay a lot more if and when I need to repurchase. Its fast, easy to clean, and goes in the dishwasher. Get one, you'll love it!

Ninja..ninja..ninja...ninja. It's literally awesome. I am a little obsessed with the whole line as their stovetop/crockpot cooker is simply the best thing I own.

I have a Magic Bullet, which is an older version of the Nutri Bullet if I'm not mistaken... I got it for $50 and I love it! It comes with 4 different mugs, so each person can make their own kind of smoothie. They're bigger than a cup but not enormous but still a good size. I find it blends really well and it came with a warranty.

My advice aim to buy just one blender in your lifetime and make it either the Vitamix or Blentec.

I have the Vitamix Professional Series 300 - cost from $504 through $599.00

The best money I have ever spent. Their customer service is excellent.

I use the blender to make everything from banana bread, hummus, smoothies, just to name a few.

I reach the stage in my life where my intention is to buy something once, and that is where quality comes into play.

My Vitamix is arriving today and I am STOKED! It'll be like Christmas morning at my house when the postman arrives!

Anyway, I have a friend who has the Ninja and he raves about it. My 2nd blender is a Kitchen Aid and I love it, too. It was about $100 or so at Target, I think. I don't plan to get rid of it, just use it for other things.

+1. That's why, as my current appliances die off, I'm upgrading where available. Tired of subpar equipment. I've learned that cheaper short term, doesn't always equal cheaper long term.
