I am a 39 year old stay at home mom of a 4 year old boy and a three year old girl, I have two older children that live with my mom 15 & 8. I am to an emotional eater and binge eater. I started in January and have l lost 87 pounds so far.
My things that helped me a lot is I quit drinking pop not even diet. I also clean a lot. I took to cleaning as my emotional release instead of eating. I still have binges but not like before.
A little tip I would also give you is if you can go to your doctor and get a fasting blood panel done. I did and it turns out that I was low in vitamin D. Being low in something can make it harder to lose and cause you to crave crazy things. Plus in a year when they redo it and you see your numbers get better it's a great Non Scale Victory.19 -
You can feel free to add me, mfp has sure made me more conscious about when I'm about to start eating emotional or just binge eating out of boredom. Some foods seem to lead to eating bad foods. It takes a week or more of clean eating to break the addiction. Why not start by eating only foods found in nature. Do not initially limit the quantity you eat, just limit the categories of food you eat. You can have unlimited fruit, salad, meat, milk or cheese, just no manufactured foods like donuts or hot dogs. If you are truly motivated, after about a week your cravings will decrease and you will be able to move to a more healthy diet. Good luck!16

@fuzzydogpa you know it's awesome that you found your thing and you don't have much to lose. It's awesome that you understand how YOUR body works and what works for you. But not everyone can eat the way you do. If I eat high fat I am laying in the floor with pain. I can't go over 20 grams of fat a day. Every body is different. That is why there is so many food choices out there. Yes some are better than others. We get in trouble when we label foods as bad and good. What if there was no off limit foods? No one would ever feel the need to 'cheat'.
I have a daily calorie limit If something I want fits in those calories I eat it, if not I don't. I also have days where I do go over, I binge. You know that is ok to. I start over the next day. I have lost 89 pounds since January and will continue to lose. I will always have to watch what I eat because that is who I am.13 -

I'm not new to mfp, but I've never done this because I felt counting calories and exercising would work. Now I don't have much support at home, want to lose 45lbs, and am having a hard time doing it on my own now. I need friends to help me keep going and support me. I think that helps everbody.
I'm 37 stay at home mother of 4. I'm the only one doing this right now so it's real hard because there is so much temptation.5 -
I been here a while, lost some weight, log in everyday (260 day streak) I am currently training for a half marathon. Feel free to add4

I have a total of over 100lbs to lose if I look at what my parents want. (I'm 62) I just want to get below 200lbs, could use all the support I can get. I am disabled, cooking is a challenge. Therefore we eat out a lot. Making dieting close to impossible.3
