Sports for large frame

My husband and I are looking for sorts/hobbies to do together as well as sports for me.

I am big. When I'm at a healthy body fat (20-25%) I'm still around 170 to 180 pounds. I have broad shoulders and hips and am SLOW. I've done boxing and kickboxing but it's always with women who I outweigh by near 60 pounds and I'm afraid I'll hurt them.

Any ideas for activities for the two of us or for me in particular?

Try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I'm a bigger girl too and I absolutely love it.

    Kickboxing.

If you're afraid of hurting someone (which you shouldn't be) kick and punch a bag, like one of those freestanding Wave Runners. I'm 205-215 and unloaded on it as much as I could.

Volleyball, basketball, baseball, any non contact sport should work just fine. You don't have to be the fastest to go out and have fun.

Rugby. Your size will be an advantage and they sometimes do mixed touch rugby teams so you and your husband can both do it.

I've been playing rugby-contact and touch- for 2 years. Best exercise ever. I'm 39 and finally got the legs I've always wanted from playing rugby!

Jiu jitsu. I've had my *kitten* handed to me by gals who weigh 30-40 lbs less than I do, and have beaten guys much much heavier and bigger. I've also seen a lot of couples take classes together, and some really sweet parent and child pairs.
