Anyone see they have new fitbits avaliable for preorder? What do you guys think? Still trying to decide if it's worth the upgrade. The lavender color is certainly a plus...

The Blaze and the Alta? Those are already out.
Or is there a new one announced and I'm just late to the party?0 -
Yes, I saw them - the Charge 2 and the Flex 2. I'm thinking of upgrading my Fitbit for my birthday next year (February). I have a Charge HR that will be 2 years old at that point. I'm not sure whether I'll just stick with what I've got, get a Charge 2 or get a Blaze but I've got a few months to decide.0

I'm in the same boat, I've had my charge hr two years in june and I'm trying to debate whether or not to get the new one. I'll probably wait for more reviews about the new features to see if it's worth it but it has me sold on how much more attractive it looks!0 -
I like that the flex 2 will be swimproof. That's the only thing that bugs me about my fitbit.0

I don't care too much for the Flex since it doesn't have a display where I can see my steps but the waterproof feature would be nice as I'm terrified to run with my charge hr in the rain.0 -

Same here. If I'm going to get a new Fitbit, I know I would really like to have the "Reminder to move" feature. I also like the idea of being able to change the band. I'm curious about other new features, but need to learn more. On the other hand, while the Blaze is kind of big, I think I might like its display, so I don't want to rule it out, either.0 -

Don't worry about a little rain. I've accidentally dunked mine several times (not only in the sink, but in a creek) with no problem.1 -
It seems like owning a Fitbit would be really expensive if you bought every new one that came out.0

You have cracked the marketing strategy for fitness gadgets.2 -
It's nice that the charge 2 has a changable wrist band.0

Not really, because as far as I can tell people don't do this with most other fitness gadgets. With chest straps, power meters, bike computers, running watches, hiking GPS units, etc, people sit several generations out.0 -

So are you buying the $899.00 Leather Fenix Chronos, the $999.00 Stainless Fenix Chronos, or the $1,400.00 Titanium Fenix Chronos?0 -
I've worn mine every day since I got it over two years ago but I know plenty of people that bought them and barely use them. I guess it's kind of like wearing the same watch for two years everyday and finally they make a new prettier version. Maybe not the most practical but a girl can dream, right?

Or just buy one device that actually works, and will last. Seems like with all the "Just call Fitbit, they'll replace it for you" and the "Their Customer Service is great", not to mention all the "My Fitbit stopped syncing with MFP" I cannot understand why someone would want one.... They own 80% of the US shares, and 75% of the global market ... but with all the troublesome post I've seen you'd think they would be better than they are.1 -
I had my charge HR for nearly two years. Never had a problem with it. I just got the blaze a couple of days ago and LOVE it! They have a system update coming to the blaze as well here pretty soon.0

No, my regular Fenix 3 does everything any of those do. And I've been using my Edge unit for 6 years. They've released lots of new ones since then but the old one does everything I need. When I read these forums though I've seen a thousand posts about "A new Fitbit is out, I'm going to upgrade" almost never with any stated reason except that it's new. I don't know how Fitbit gets people to do that.NorthCascades wrote: »It seems like owning a Fitbit would be really expensive if you bought every new one that came out.

That's exactly my point. Except I'd say buy the one that has the features you want. Anyway, buying once is cheaper than buying twice.1 -

Apple does it every year. But that's a different discussion for a different time. I was just watching RizKnows talk about the Flex 2 and the Charge 2 and he was fairly excited that the Flex 2 is now "swim proof". . . I'm sitting here thinking ... well they finally caught up with the VivoFit 1 in that aspect.
But I will say Fitbit does know how to market well. That is one thing I'll give them.1 -

I've only had my Charge HR since April, but it owes me nothing - I credit it for the motivation to lose 10Kg+ and improve my fitness and well-being. I will probably buy the Charge 2 as much as a thank you to Fitbit (plus to get a new shiny toy) and pass the HR onto someone else who might also see the benefit....
It's that or a new pair of headphones.... and Stax prices are about to shoot through the roof0 -
I'm going to get my wife a Charge 2. Her Jawbone broke a while back and only recently decided she wanted a new one. She wants something that does HR even though it isn't the best in accuracy, she does have some heart issues. I love my iWatch, paired with a chest strap for workout it rocks.0
