OK, I don't want to get slammed for artificial sweeteners....Just saying....
I have a question for those who do love these drinks as much as I do. Do any of you count the 10 calories per packet of crystal light? I also have noticed the new Diet Mt Dew bottles have "10 calories per bottle"......anyone count calories for their diet soda? I counted about 100 cal yesterday for my beverages, b/c I used 5 crystal light packets and love my diet soda. But today, that is all I have left over is 100 calories!
Anyway, I just wanted your opnion on this....and please no negativity on artificial sweeteners.....just asking those who already drink it!! Thank you in advance!!!

I use crystal light or propel packets...usually one or two a day and always count them. Even though they are only 10 calories, as you have noticed they can add up! As long as you count them in your daily total I think you will be fine.0
-
I always count my crystal calories...yes, they are a low amount, but if you're drinking a lot of water....it adds up0
-
I always count my crystal light packets.... and be sure to count your water from that also if you track your water consumption. But I only have 1 to 2 packets a day the rest of the time it is unsweetened tea or water for me!0
-
I drink diet coke and there are 0 calories, but I would count the 10 cals on your packet of crystal light if there is any0
-
Yup! The only low cal thing I don't count is gum....Unless I chew a pack a day.0
-
i will try no sodias unless get a headache then use diet drinks but stomachache have to have my sprite..... but i love my crystal light strawberry and banana hunger control so i count everything when i do it. i like vitamin enhanced grape and apple great value drink mix too.0
-
I just started using crystal light pouches - 1 per day - and yes, I log them.0
-
I don't normally count my Crystal Light packet as I only drink 1 to 2 packets a day then I drink just plain water once I get home.0
-
I count my Crystal Light and low-cal drinks... I figure that if I start skipping "just one low cal item" then there's a chance I could start skipping more. Besides... if I go over my calorie intake because of a low-cal drink, I'll do jumping jacks or go for a short walk outside to burn a few extra calories that day.0

i pour 1 packet (10 calories) into a gallon of water and shake it up.... Therefore I do not count the packet as it is severly diluted. 1 gallon may last me a week or so at home. During the day, in the office, i use MIO for my water which is calorie free.0

I have a diet coke daily, but never log it. It's zero calories and the sodium is so minimal that it doesn't make a difference to me. I most likely would log crystal light if I drank it, since it can add up.0

Of course I do! Sodas, teas, flavored waters, juices and alcohol all add up very quickly! It's just calories alone either. Alot of drinks of sodium, sugar, vitamins, etc. that you need to remain accountable for as well.0

It's NOT just calories alone***0 -
I count my drink additives because the calories and sodium, etc are going in my bod.
And regarding people slamming you for using artificial sweeteners, my take on it is, I've put a HECK of a lot worse in my body which is why I am here. My drink adds get me drinking the water. Some day maybe I won't want them (but probably not).0 -
Yep yep...pomegranate lemonade is my favorite.0
-
I haven't been counting mine....but I guess I should! Ooopsies.0

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE CRYSTAL LIGHT!!!! However, I never count them.... There also crystal light-LIKE products that are 0 CAlories, like Mio, and store brand drink mixes THOSE are also my favorites. ( Ihate the peach/green tea worst FAIL EVER!!!) lol0

I switched to Propel zero - zero calories, some vitamins, and clear in color (I hated the coloring from Crystal Light - too messy at work).0
-
I count every bite, nibble, sip, etc LOL! I usually only drink Crystal Light's fitness drink when I'm doing Turbo Fire so even though it's just one packet, yes I add it0
-
Thank u all!! I haven't been counting them but guess I should start!! I know the diet soda says 0 calories but my new diet mt dew says 10 calories for the whole 20 oz bottle! And I get the big ones from the convenient store fountain machine all of the time! I guess u should log 10 calories here and there for that too! I usually put 1 packet in a 23 oz bottle of water and have 4 of them a day. Yesterday I had 5. I need to break that packet up for 2 bottles!
And I agree with the statement "I have put worse in my body than artificial sweeteners!" Isn't that why most of us are here?
Thanks again!!0 -
I tend to quick add calories to cover these items. I don't drink much diet soda, but I do make crystal light and keep it in my fridge.0
-
Try Diet Rite it is true zero cola and no aspartame.0
-
The only thing I do not count are vitamins. So yes, I count low-calorie beverages. My most frequent low-calorie beverage is anything from the 4C Light Iced Teas. they're 0 calories, 100% of Vitamin C per 8 oz and less expensive than Crystal Light.
I just don't drink soda unless it's a mixer for an alcoholic beverage. I have nothing against soda, but I can live without the belching and farting it causes.0 -
I have not read through the replies, but my answer is: NO. I don't count those calories, just like I don't count the calories in my sugar-free gum.
To each their own, but I just don't think it's necessary to count those.0 -
Yes, I count mine. But then again, I drink 2 quarts a day of the of raspberry lemonade. Therein, 40 calories go to my "water." I figure that might add up if I ignore them. Those calories are SO worth it!
(Keep on an eye on the Publix ads, fellow Crystal Light addicts - Publix puts the canisters on BOGO every couple of months!)0 -
Yes, I always log them.0

I drink the cans of Diet Mt. Dew and haven't noticed anyhting about 10 calories!! My heart is breaking!! I am totally addicted to them! I kicked the sugary drinks about two years ago b/c "getting rid of the sodas alone will make you lose (insert # here) pounds." Of course that didn't work, but I don't think I have enough will power to kick them all together. As long as my 12 oz. cans say 0 calories, that's what I'm sticking to!! LOL The only time i can drink water is /during/after a good workout or when I am forcing it down my throat to fill my stomach up after dinner and all my calories for the day are gone! As far as answering your question, I say "to each his own." My husband was so upset the other night over going over his count and kept going on about it. I told him that this is only gonna work if there is a little bit of flex. You're not going to hell for not counting a few extra calories, and if it upsets you that much, then just count. But do what is right for YOU and YOU alone. It's your body! (P.S. Sorry for the novel.)0

I log them. Not just for the calories or sodium, but also to help me keep track of how much water I drink.
I use one packet per 32 oz of water, and drink between 3 and 4 a day.0 -
I wasn't counting them until I saw how much sodium was in one packet. (Crystal Light) I gave it up and now I make a glass pitcher of ice water with fuit in it. A friend told me to add fresh strawberries and kiwi. It's yummy!0
