How many times a day do you drink protein shakes?

Being vegetarian, I am always trying to get enough protein. Right now, I only have 1 glass of my shake, right after I work out. I was wondering if it's safe/ok to have it twice just to get more protein...without having to add more calories/fat/carbs.
It has artificial stuff in it, so I was wondering if the good outweighs the bad and if I should have that second glass.

You can seek out alternatives without the artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners. Optimum Nutritional's "Natural" products, for example.
I have some whey-based shake 2-3 times a day.0 -
I drink one in the mornings as well for breakfast only because that is the one meal I am protein deficient in. Then most of the time depending on how taxing the workout was I will have a second but I also work out in the evenings. I have not seen any bad effects from doing this.0

I'm veg too, and I'll down anywhere between 4-6 schoops a day. So if anyone's going to die from protein shaking it up, it will be me, not you. I think you're fine hah!0

Ill drink a shake only if i dont have time for a meal or snack. i rather get my protiens from real food, but if i cant get my 130-140 grams of protein in, ill do a shake. i also have one right after a hard weight training routine. Your muscles needs it to repair itself and i found protein drinks gets absorbed into your system faster0

I drink 4 scoops (92g) of protein on strength training days (3 days a week) and 2 scoops (46g) on the remaining days.
BTW, Depending on your level of veg, you may want to research what protein you are consuming and it's origins. Whey protein is a by-product of cheese making and would not be appropriate for someone who is animal free.0 -
I hate shakes but I have a morning shake and a post-workout shake daily.
