Fat and an eating disorder?

I am 4'11, 18 years and 141 pounds. I am overweight but a lot of people say I don't actually look fat. People comment I have an eating disorder (bulimia) for a few reasons; 1,300 calories or less. No soda. No snacks. Nothing fried. Protein shake in morning. Lunch but eat half. Other half for dinner. Than other times I eat anything I want/see and then throw up. How would that be possible to have an eating disorder and be overweight?

Yes you can have an eating disorder and be overweight. When I was in treatment most were of normal weight or a bit above. Purging is a definite red flag and is very dangerous because it is so bad for you. Please go talk to your doctor and find help. Good luck!

if you eat and purge, then seek medical help right away.

and yes, people with eating disorders come in all sizes.

you're 18, talk to your parents about this either tonight or tomorrow morning. I gotta believe that they will be there for you

I have always been big but when I was in Grade 7 I stopped eating breakfast and lunch. Only when I turned 26 did I start to eat again (because I was pregnant) I never purged but I was definitely suffering from an eating disorder. I had a love/hate relationship with food. I packed the pounds on over the years because the body was in a starvation mode. It held onto what ever I did feed it. To this day I struggle with eating breakfast but comprise with eating a brunch. Please get help. I wish I would have recognized this sooner. Talk to your parents or a doctor. ❤ Your body and mind need you. xox

This is a myth, your metabolism lowers; meaning you burn less calories but being alive, means your still burning calories!

Were you binging? I didn't lose weight skipping lunch and dinner because I binged on the weekends and only became scary underweight when I stopped binging without compulsive exercising and other forms of purging (but not vomiting)
