Doctors HATE me for saying this:
- Fill water in bottle
- Write juice cleanse on it
- ???
- profit

There's no such thing as a juice cleanse. Nourish and hydrate yourself properly. That's pretty much all the cleansing you need. Juice won't help or hurt the process.6
-
No. What are you planning to cleanse with this juice? Cleanses are nothing but nonsense. Eat food at a reasonable calorie deficit, lose weight in a sustainable manner - no nonsense quick fix needed.3
-
Eat some plums and drink some water. Natural laxative effect. Juice "cleanses" are diet industry fodder. Just a money making scheme.

They're crap. The only weightloss they give you is through loss of water weight and by emptying your bowls via laxative effect without replacing them with any solid food. Once you eat and rehydrate you'll replace any lost weight.3

Just to let everyone know I'm not trying to do it with hopes of losing weight.
I just got back from a cruise. Lots of food and alcohol. Feel like garbage. I should rephrase I want a quick detox.0 -

And if you have a functioning liver and kidneys your body is doing just fine "detoxing" itself. All detoxes and cleanses do is remove money from your wallet. They are not legitimate forms of "healthy" eating. They are made up money makers.7 -

Exactly. A "detox" doesn't do anything beneficial for your body or health. They're junk science and a complete ripoff. The only thing it does is takes perfectly good money out of your wallet for no reason. You don't have any "toxins" built up, alcohol is metabolized before anything else in your body and is already gone, and unless you ate poisonous food your body will process and excrete the waste products. A "detox" won't speed up, enhance or otherwise help the process. Anybody who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you garbage.4 -
May I offer an actual answer to your enquiry without forcing my opinion on you. If doing a juice cleanse will make you feel better then do it. I did the Jason Vale 5 day one once, the book was only £5 on amazon. I didn't do it for weight loss but to see if I had the mental strength to do it, which I did and it was fun! I would recommend the Jason Vale programmes, the recipes are simple and the ingredients were not too expensive. Yes there's a lot of myths posted about juice and it is dangerous to do long term but, really, you're an adult. You know that. Happy juicing!1

A reasonable answer. But really you don't need a £5 book to mush up some fruit.
It's not the juicing that gets people's goats, it's the lies surrounding the effects of mushing and drinking fruit.9 -
There's still no such thing as a "cleanse" or "detox." Those are natural bodily processes that will happen without juice.5

there is no such thing. If there was, do you think any would ever fail a urine test? You just have to let your liver work it out.
If you want to do a juice cleanse anyways that's fine but it won't 'detox' you.1 -

So you basically have a hangover. OK. Eat balanced meals for a few days, drink lots of fluids, and get adequate rest. No detox needed.

So eat healthfully and nourish yourself. No "cleanse" required, and removing essential nutrients like protein and healthy fats (what often happens if someone just eats fruit and veg juice) is going to be counterproductive.
If you think you will feel better mentally or physically by eating super healthfully and not being indulgent for a few days, absolutely do that. Have some lean protein, lots of fruits and veg (greens are a good choice), nuts and seeds, avocado, stuff like that. I know a light salad or some grilled fish and veg or gazpacho are all things that help me feel good, as does a nice bowl of oatmeal with berries. Oh, and hydrate.4 -

A detox is no less ridiculous than a cleanse. The only time you need a detox is if you're addicted to drugs or alcohol. Juice ain't going to fix that.3

My advice would be to just eat normal, well balanced meals and drink lots of water. You don't need to "detox" from anything unless you were abusing illegal substances on this cruise (because that's the only legitimate detox).1 -
Go for it
Ignore the naysayers
They just like science and facts and physiology and biological functions
There's more to life than science
... everyone needs a little something to believe in

Still not necessary, at all. The only detox you need is functioning organs.
Go back to eating normally and make sure you get lots of water. You'll feel better in a few days.

If you're feeling lousy because you overindulged in lots of less-than-healthy food &
drink, then start eating correctly again. Nothing else is needed. No special diet, no
"cleanse", no "detox", nothing out of the ordinary other than perhaps increasing the
amount of water you drink for a few days.
If it makes you feel better to have a glass of juice instead of eating a bowl / piece
of fruit, throw several pieces of fruit into a blender with a handful of ice cubes (or
freeze some of that fruit first). If you're otherwise healthy, it won't hurt you much
to eat nothing but fruit for several days. You'll probably get the runs though.2 -
Thank you everyone who explained this to me. appreciate it greatly.
But for the ones who get pissed off because someone doesn't agree with your or isn't as up to date on things as you isn't ok.
Not everyone knows as much as you about eating and living healthy.
Isn't that what this app is for? Learning to eat and live healthier.
Having positive and motivational support?
I mean *kitten* maybe I'm wrong.
But like I said, Myself included, not everyone knows a lot about this kind of stuff. And like most, I've heard "awesome" things about juicing or cleanses etc.
Again, thank you to the ones who were helpful instead of basically telling me I'm stupid for asking about some cleanses.
Have a great night ❤️2 -
Try it. I did a long juice fast years ago. After the first few days I felt great. It gives your digestion a small rest.0

I must of missed that post.
Positive and motivational support doesn't mean blindly invalidating silly ideas.

No one was looking for validation on a silly idea.
Like I said, educate. Don't tell someone their idea is basically stupid and makes no sense. Pretty simple.1 -

No one called you stupid or got pissed off at you. You didn't invent "detoxes" or "cleanses" so calling them stupid was not calling your thoughts regarding using them stupid. You didn't know so we were just warning you that you don't have to waste your money on it because you don't need to. You'd rather have people not warning you when you risk wasting money?7 -

Well I would say you were looking for validation in OP of detoxes and juice cleanses which are a silly idea.
And people did educate on why that is so.
If I post something ridiculous like You must eat 60 bananas a day! ( hypothetical example) you don't think people should say that makes no sense and is a silly idea????
