Again, my point in this was your idea of silly or ridiculous isn't everyone's idea of silly or ridiculous.
Your answer is not the one and only right answer.
My point was educate instead of telling someone it's a silly idea and waste of money.
Half of the responses were it's a stupid idea and waste of money and the other half was real information explaining why it's not a beneficial route to take.
That's all. Taking this further then it ever needed to go.

    Again. We DID educate.

And in this case, regarding detoxes and cleanses, they are silly and ridiculous because they do not do anything they are claimed to do. And saying that they don't do what they claim to do is the only right answer because it is a yes or no scenario here. Do they work? No. End of story. That makes everyone's answer, who said they don't work, the one and only right answer. Find me a peer-reviewed researched document claiming they do what you originally thought they did and then there might be another answer, but I'd bet money you won't. And of course people are going to tell you it's a waste of money and why it's not beneficial. You want people to just tell you "Don't do it" without giving you the reason why not to? You're contradicting yourself now. Either you want us to educate or not. Don't say "educate", but then complain when we do.

We we NOT judging you. You're acting like this was a personal attack directed at you and it wasn't. We tell you it wasn't and you repeat yourself just as if it was still a personal attack. It wasn't.

Maybe re read the comment I made.
I said I appreciate the half that educated me.
Where did you get I wasn't accepting and appreciative of the information given to me?

OP maybe the delivery of some peoples replies weren't as tactful as they could have been. But look at bigger picture (the bright side). You have saved yourself lots of money and time because of this thread :+1:

And for that I was appreciative.
My point in all of this was the WAY people try to make their points.
    I made that very clear

I've read it all twice. No one was calling you stupid. We did try to educate you and give you the why. It feels to me that you got defensive and flipped out for no reason, but that's just my opinion. I've said all I'm going to say. Good luck on your endeavors.

And I can't see any other way to say what we said.
  • I'm looking for a 3-5 day juice cleanse.
If anyone has any suggestions it recipes please message me and share! ❤️
    Thank you loves

I don't think there is anything wrong with juicing short term if a person feels like they need it. Sometime your stomach is just not feeling it for solids. If it makes you feel good to juice for a few days, go for it!

Try it. I did a long juice fast years ago. After the first few days I felt great. It gives your digestion a small rest.

You don't need to give you gi system a rest unless you have a serious disease and at that point they put you on TPN which bypasses your gi system.

This is MFP, where you usually get the right answer, but sometimes the delivery method is a 2x4 to the face.
Lol, sometimes people use a 4x6.

I would much rather hear that something is a silly, unnecessary waste of time and money (oh and did anyone mention how much time you would spend in the bathroom - is that really how you want to spend your first few days back after vacation?) than to have people dance around it or worse, encourage me to try something like "hey OP, can't hurt to try, let us know how it goes!".

Criticizing the woo based diet industry that preys on consumers eager for a quick fix via clickbait articles and Pinterest infographics is not calling you stupid. Many of us came here with preconceived (incorrect) notions about diet, health and fitness. Direct, blunt answers are often the best way to get the point across, to save people from making big mistakes, in my opinion.

Your digestive system is given a rest, it's silly to say you will spend time in the restroom when actually the opposite is true.

It isn't fully given a rest and for me that amount of sugar would cause major diarrhea. Your gi system doesn't need a rest unless you are seriously ill. There's no need to try.

Just to let everyone know I'm not trying to do it with hopes of losing weight.
I just got back from a cruise. Lots of food and alcohol. Feel like garbage. I should rephrase I want a quick detox.

    32 oz. H2O
    4 Fresh squeezed lemons
    2 tbsp. Cayenne pepper
Stay home all day with plenty of tp.

As I've said I've done it and I felt great. Short term fasting has also been shown to have some benefits.
