My guess is you think you have to starve youself on just kale and green tea, then you wonder why you can't stick to it.

I suggest reading the "Helpful Posts" sticky thread in this forum, even if the above does not apply.

I agree with the above - read the helpful posts.

Set a realistic weight loss target and a calorie level you know you can stick too (factoring in your current weight and activity level), the reason you cannot stick to it is because whatever method you were using isn't sustainable for you.

Your calories can be comprised of whatever fits - try and align with your macros (protein, carb, fat) I'm not pushing any style of eating but trying to maintain balance for you. Initially stick to being balanced. Reassess every few weeks.

Make sure you are drinking enough water.

Menopause is not gonna stop you from losing weight.. Getting off the yo yo train will. This is where you really have to dig down deep and accept that you WILL make a plan and adhere to a sustainable way to lose this weight once and for all.

Start today. Setup your account here in MFP with x pounds to lose a week and start weighing and logging your food. Stick with the exact calorie goal and meet that goal every single day.

As stated, read all the stickies. Get all the knowledge you need from nutrition, logging food, exercise, etc. There is more than enough information in these threads to answer all your basic questions and more!

The rest is up to YOU! Give it a go, this method or process will not disappoint if you follow it. And know that your attitude toward this process or any other method out there for losing weight will carry you all the way towards meeting your goal! :)

There's so many different approaches so consider them all but a crucial skill is learning to maintain rather than focussing on the "dieting" phase alone. If you don't slip back then any progress is positive.

Eating at the calories needed to maintain your goal weight is one approach.
Intermittent fasting - there's loads of protocols.
Moderate calorie deficit over an extended period.
    Higher deficit for short periods.

Knowledge is power, experimentation boosts knowledge. It took me until my 50's to both get my head in the right place and also to find what worked for me.
